4BBB Pairs

The weather could not have been more amenable for an enjoyable low scoring round with potential for large numbers of birdies and perhaps even an eagle or two!

So where did it all go wrong?

Anyway, it was all good at the start:

Birgit, Ian & Gerry keen to play!

Derek & Carol with Gary photo bombing in the rear!

Lynne, Lynley & Richard smartly attired in SOS kit.

Mark Smith & Earle on the first tee.

 The Fairways

Colin considers his chances with a shot under the low hanging branches!

Steph had to decide how to best clear the ball to the fairway without damaging her club!

After a few false starts, Steph's ball heads for the fairway without injury to self or equipment!

Barry had similar problems, but with a smaller tree!

Barry's escape . . . .

Regrettably, another out of control remote controlled buggy event occurred during play!! Nothing to match Glen Pope's unobserved "250 m + & into the dam" master disaster reported last year but, nevertheless, it featured many of the same elements!

While Gerry was searching for his ball on the right flank of the of the 4th hole fairway, near the green,  his buggy took off across the fairway and headed for the bunker! Peter saw it about to happen but only managed to get out a garbled cry which enabled Gerry to watch the carnage take place, but not enough time to hit the "Stop" button!

Moments after Gerry's remote controlled buggy pitches into
the greenside bunker on the 4th hole!

Gerry thanked Shelley Yeo and Mark Hill for assisting in picking up the scores of golfing items that had emptied out of the unzipped pockets!

Ian looking for his ball!

Strewth!! It's inside the tree stump!#*?

Perhaps this will get it out?

Carol attempts a one-handed blind wedge shot in order
to stay clear of any lurking dugites!

Colin, Maureen & Greg check out the green while
Stephanie, Keith, Glenn & Barry contemplate 'hitting up'!

Gadzooks!!! I aimed to the left, or was it the right, but the ball
hit the blue tree in the middle!

Post Match

The very moderate weather provided an ideal
outdoors setting for the post match session!

Gerry has to make many countback calculations before establishing the teams results.

President's Address

SOS Golf Group President, Brett Fordham, welcomed all to the post match meeting!

Congratulations and best wishes were extended to Carol Barrow who celebrates her birthday on Monday, 13 December.

Not a particularly high scoring game, and only one birdie!  Oh dear !!! Perhaps the membership is feeling a bit burn out as the year comes to  a close?

The Podium

Colin Kerr Individual & Group winner, Maureen Sundari with the SOS 2021 Ladies Champions Trophy, Club Captain Gerry Tessier 2nd in Group competition, Shirly Skinner Group winner & 3rd individually & Mark Hill 2nd in Group competition.

Golden Hole

The 16th hole was in play with the flagstick just a metre or so from the front of the green! Too easy, some said!! But it defied the efforts of all players, so the prize continues to jackpot from a low base.

Birdies & Eagles

One lone birdie!!?  Congratulations to Gerry for nailing it on the 2nd green!
