Par Bisque

Sponsor: Christine - our hearty thanks.

I've got a new hat

I've still got my old one
Bisque? Why am I thinking Brandy?

Once we had worked out the scoring system, this was kind of fun. Not a game to take too seriously, and there's a certain satisfaction in knowing that the worst you can score is one minus. Traditionally the high handicappers do well in this format, but not today.
If you go in the pond I've got the retriever ready

Birthday for Ron on Wednesday - not sure where the cake went. Not sure where the novelties went either. Or the raffle. Oh well.
We were doing pretty well at this stage

Doing a Stephie!
Quietly confident
Shelley  thanks those who returned the shirt survey, especially Tony Lee whose reply was timed at 04:58 - time to get a life, Tony? And Charmaine, who apparently returned hers upside down. Overdoing the Australia thing a bit, Charmaine. Now we're in the Eurovision Song Contest, we're the same way up as the rest of the world.
Travelling in style
Well, someone's got to play with Derek
Don't forget next week the Wine and Cheese at Vickie and Earle's, 6pm at 14 Wilton Place in Scarborough. Maps may follow, but your GPS will know where it is.
When everyone else deserts you, there's always your mum.
Clubs? Who needs clubs?
Next week, Stableford on the Old Course (not Par Bisque, as indicated in the annual programme).
Still smiling
And now, the bit that matters:

Ambrose Pairs Wembley Old Course Saturday 21st February 2015

Sponsor:  Mardi Freeman

Ambrose is always an enjoyable game to play, as you can always blame your partner if the scores aren’t good.  Poor Steve’s shoulder’s were hanging by the end of the day, as he had to carry Ross for 18 holes.  He got so frustrated that the club head went swinging past poor Shelley’s head on the tenth tee.  I really felt for you Steve! Lol
I got embedded between the Richards in a threesome!!! Pardon the Pun!   Our team RRC (could be a roadside assistance team), we probably would have been better off doing that instead of playing golf on Saturday.  It was however very enjoyable and a good laugh!

Summer Cup Round 2: Wembley Tuart Course Saturday 14th February 2014

Sponsor:  Lynne Malone

Well all I can say is that there are only two Valentines in the SOS Club.  One presented a banana, and the other an actual Rose (The Captain - what a Valentine).  Although the banana did go to good use!
The wind and heat did get to most of us although a good number of birdies were had by many players!  I was pleased to have the Brother and Sister Duo in my team (Frances and Richard).  They played true to their relationship when on the first tee Richard went into the water followed closely by Frances also with a wet ball!  My heart went out to poor Steve because Nola broke his stiff shaft and he had to get a soft one from the Pro Shop!  Poor Guy!

We were pleased to see David Johnston back for a round of Golf with a not too bad score! Well Done! Richard Yeo was delighted to have your company all to himself after golf.

Summer Cup Round 1 Saturday 7th February 2015

Sponsor:  SOS

We had a good attendance with all ready to put their name on the Summer Cup Trophy.  However, by the end of the play we did not look that eager.  The day was marked with confusion.  Gordon and David never turned up, despite putting their names down, Stephanie, who was the Sponsor, decided to give the week a miss, and the most confused must be the 5th Group  (Gary, Kerry, Steve and Brett the "new half century man") who took ten minutes driving crossroads in their carts, finding balls, clubs, players, etc. I had Malcolm stripping, Ross being Ross and Mr Pope being the Oh So True Gentleman!
I'm too Sexy for my Shirt!

PAR Wembley Tuart Course Saturday 31st January 2015

Sponsor:  Vickie

Par is not everybody's favourite golf game.  Some scores proved that.  I went with the attitude of "I will get the Lollies" but after a pep talk from my friend Nola, I played my best game ever and she got the Lollies.  Moral of the story” Give yourself a Pep Talk!
I still have a sore neck caused by playing with a Giant.  I looked up to him for 18 holes and played in his shadow! What a gentle Giant!

My Beanstalk!
It was a very entertaining day as Gordon hit a perfect drive on the first hole, which non of us could find.  After two holes Gordon and Dave Mandy realised they did not have a scorecard. That was the start to our game! Trees were peppered with golf balls never to be seen again.  A true adventure of a golf game.  Thanks Guys!

Roland’s team which consisted of Bruce, Traverse and Ross meant DISASTER from the start.  They were so slow one would think they were playing their own Tournament.  Their excuse was that they were waiting for the man in the cart on the fairway to hit his ball. After waiting for almost five minutes they realised it was Bruce The Marshall!!! What can I say.

Richard Yeo complained that nobody moved the markers, only to be told that he was in the first group.  Lynne thought she was playing a game called (we all put our car keys in a bowl), and after two hours came back to the club to return Bruce’s keys.  Bruce still suffering from shock, went home without his mobile phone.  What on earth was in the water on Saturday, I think we all lost the plot even Gary the “Show Off” hit an eagle on the 6th hole and did not win! really Gary?
