New Year Cup

Hot and humid, and some rather unfortunate scorecards. But not for Bernie, who's playing some great golf at the moment - congratulations, 73 nett and today's winner. The trophy will arrive next week - the elves are polishing it ready for her mantelpiece. (either that, or Richard, last year's winner, wasn't playing today).

(Not quite sure why the Club President is holding what appears to be legal tender)

Second, with 74, was Ross, just edging out Ivar, also on 74.

2nd NTP - Judith
6th NTP - Paul
10th NTP - Peter
16th NTP - Derek

A note for your diaries, we're anticipating a sausage sizzle on the 21st.

Christmas Cup and Cheer

Much fun had by all, and many thanks to Earle and Vickie for the loan of Wilton Place. To celebrate, Earle had the round of his life, with 8 pars and a bogey on the first nine, and carried off the cup with an unassailable 41. Colin Kerr followed on with a very creditable 38, just ahead of Mike on 37.

NTP 2nd, Colin Kerr
NTP 6th, Don
NTP 13, David Ross
LD 17, Don.

Bernie's third card came in at 92, so the handicapper will soon pronounce.

Great fun at the Christmas Cheer. Forget the social pages in the West, this was the place to be:

Tony's trousers caused a constitutional crisis, with the fine going to a vote, the result overturned by the Governor-General, aka Paul.

These three renegades hadn't read the invitation, which specifically stated that this was a teetotal event.

Denis the proud recipient of the lollies - a spectacular change of fortune, after actually WINNING the Christmas Cup last year.

Gim clearly not too impressed with the Chateau Wilton Place.

Anniversary Cup

Won by Rocket, with an impressive 68, just edging out Gim with what was presumably an equally impressive 68, way ahead of Derek on a derisory 71.

Paul's mum and dad came by to check out his story about being the club president. We all went along with it for the day.

And the story was told of Mike subborning a passing cyclist to pick up his ball from the road after a particulary vicious slice on the 11th. Unfortunately, it wasn't his ball!
