YELLOW PERIL

That was an interesting game.

Yellow Peril? I was planning on playing with my pink balls..

Captain's choice, and she chose Yellow Peril.

So, whose socks are these? Answer below.

Took a couple of holes, but we soon had it worked out.

Seems if you didn't have the yellow ball, you could let someone else get a better score than you and no-one really noticed what a bad hole you'd had.

I've stuck it on the end of this stick so we don't lose it

Sounds like the perfect game, we should play it more often.

Thank you to Vickie for her sponsorship, and well done the talented team that won with an impressive 83 points.

We welcomed Jeanie to the club today, who managed a very creditable 32 points playing in one of the less fancied teams.

Going incognito

But before we get to the results, a couple of important announcements.

The Annual Dinner takes place on November 17th, that's three weeks today.

The dinner will start at 1830 hrs (half past six), and it will be at Al Fornetto on Scarborough Beach Road, corner of Flamborough Street, Doubleview.

There are several menu options, and vegetarian options available. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be provided by SOS, there'll be prizes and entertainment, and the price is $45 for members, and $70 for non-members.

Happy Halloween, everyone

So far, the following people have indicated that they'll be coming. If your name is not on this list, but you'd like to come, please email to Shelley.

Who's that handsome bloke in the last group?

Now the big news - next week, a sausage sizzle after the game at Perry Lakes. Clear your after game schedules - don't miss this.

And the even bigger news - a fantastic hole in one on the twelfth by Glen - with the yellow ball no less, with which he managed to pick up the Golden Hole, and the Eagles Nest. Fantastic result, Glen.

Always a great moment

And that's not all - it's his birthday this week, too. In the excitement it was missed in the announcements.

For when you throw the club in after the ball

And it's Gerry's birthday too. Happy birthday to both of you. Remember this:

Well done that team.

Next week, we're competing for two trophies, the Memorial and the Masters. Both are stroke competitions, the Memorial is open to anyone, the Masters is restricted to anyone who has won a competition that was played over two weeks or more while they've been a member of SOS. It is, of course, possible to win both.

It doesn't get any more co-ordinated than this..

The competitions will be played on the Tuart course again.

So why does he keep showing me his socks? Is it a club thing?

That's right. The socks were Gary's.

And remember, the only sure way to get a par is to leave a four-foot birdie putt two inches short of the hole.

That's it for this week. See you all on Saturday.

SOS CUP Round 2

Round 2 of the prestigious SOS Cup

Now that's what I call dressing for the occasion

Several players in contention, after some excellent rounds last week

We're playing for sheep stations

The leader from last week was Peter

To improve his chances, he's wearing the same lucky socks he wore last week.

Has he washed them since? We really don't know. We'd have to ask his playing partners.

Hard to know who's excluded then..

Birthdays this week for Frances.

Remember, the Annual Dinner takes place this year on Saturday 17th  November.

The venue is La Fornetto, on Scarborough Beach Road. Do make every effort to come, and bring a guest with you, too. It's always a fun night, and this year promises to be even funner.

John is hoping to organise an SOS competition to participate in the Super 6 competition. We put forward a male and female winner to compete for a place in the Pro-Am at Karrinyup. To participate, you must be available to play in a play-off on Sunday, Jan 20th. More details will follow.

A great first round, and a serviceable second one from Peter were enough to bring home the trophy. The lucky socks obviously performed - I suspect we'll be seeing them again.

No raffle this week, but good news from Shelley, who lucked out on the Scratchie which she won in last week's raffle!

Next week on the Tuart, it's Captain's Choice - no doubt she'll keep us guessing, so be ready for anything!
