Perry Lakes Cup

 The Perry Lakes Cup

Peter concentrating hard on strategy, in spite of some lateral distraction

The Cup was donated to SOS by ex-member Lorenzo "The Roman Bogan" who eventually went on to build a par 3 course in his own garden in Italy - that's the sort of commitment we used to get from SOS members.

Here's a thought:

A late start today. A few of us had forgotten to change the time on our alarm clocks, so we got here super early and put in a lot of pre-game chat - even more than usual.

I really have nothing to add....

I've been here so long it's time for dinner!

Today was, of course, a typical autumn day here in Perth - f*cking hot, in spite of the BOM having promised us a bit of a sprinkle - never happened!

Carol prepares to crunch it down the fairway

New VC Andrea brought her dad Harold along. Harold lives quite close to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, but by the time he's programmed that into his GPS, it's quicker to fly to Perth and play golf here.

Yes, Nuria drains a thirty-footer on the third!

At this point, anything is still possible

Lynley celebrated her birthday on the 21st, and Colin is eagerly anticipating his on the 3rd of April.

Our new President, Goochy, celebrated the opening of the new season by taking the first drive off the tee, and a beautiful drive it was too. So good that those of us who gathered to watch took it on to try and get our drive closest to his. (Fortunately he'd only hit a 9-iron!)

Some decent scores in spite of the warm weather. First, the novelties.

Mark Wilson continuing to post good scores. We gather baby Isobel has not yet learned how to wake up her parents multiple times in the night - she will.

Bernie gives the finger to all of us

A very respectable performance from Kerry. Mark Hill keeps making the podium, and Carol continues her climb up the leader board, but we can't take it away from the man with the golden touch today:

We were all worried he'd be hard to beat if he ever learned to putt!

Where do we find such talent?

Best day ever - Paul carries off the Raffle prize

Now here's an offer you can't refuse - we have some archival leader boards that we have nowhere they can be displayed - would any member like to take them on?

Would make a classy addition to any shed or barbecue area, impress your friends and neighbours. You could even mount them the right way up.

Now you wish you hadn't just clicked "delete" don't you?

And now here's something for you ladies to think about until next week:
