Captain's Choice

Captain's Choice it was, and what she chuz was Stableford, with a side competition for whoever scored the fewest putts.

We've got a few tricks up our sleeve..

After the tension of the last couple of stroke games, we all breathed a sigh of relief.

Got any tips for today?

The hyper-relaxed state probably explains the reasonable scores that most of us managed,

First group, get our names on all the novelties..

and a spread of only eight points between the winner and the lollies.

Works every time

Shelley has warned us as she prepares the budget for next year, it appears that we will need to raise the annual subscription. Those who were paying attention at the AGM will have remembered that we committed to running down the surplus this year, which we have been successful in doing. That does mean, however, that we can't continue as we are for next year. Shelley will keep us informed, but a back-of-the-envelope calculation suggests a figure of around $120 will be required.

Watch out for those sprinkers

Gary has a nearly-new GPS device available for a very reasonable sum.

Chat to Gary if you're in the market for one of these. Retails at $299 - he's letting it go for $100.

And BTW, have you noticed the sticker on Gary's golf bag?

He thinks we don't notice this stuff. Anyone know the results after the tests?

Looking forward to the conversation in the Walker household this evening:

The good news is that next week after the Diggers' Cup competition we will decamp to Perry Lakes for a sausage sizzle. No charge to members, but you might have to help clear up afterwards. Remember, straight to Perry Lakes after the game, and we'll go through the results there.

Dave apologises for rushing off after the game. He was off to a two-year-old's birthday party.

Apparently he had to pick up his clown costume from the dry cleaners.

Remarkably, the Golden Hole remains unclaimed, and has now jackpotted to $347, plus whatever is in the pot next time we play on the old course. Just practice dropping it on the spot from 140 metres, shouldn't be that hard.

And who won the putting competition? Here are the leaders:

Although there was a bit of a discussion after Stan was seen using a six iron for his tap ins! Hadn't thought of that, too smart by half.

Last week the Cup, this week the Raffle...Someone's on a roll

Shelley is now collecting your payment for the annual dinner on Nov 23rd - either cash to Shelley or transfer to the SOS account. $45 for members, $75 for your guests.

Second, after a recount.

A fine round from Kenny Rogers

That's it for now. Next week, Diggers Trophy, that's a Par competition on the Tuart. Good luck, and see you there.

Hey girls, guess what? Rob Gray's back in town..

And here's something that Keith has sent us from the old country - thinks we might be short of something to laugh at here in Australia.

I just said "Brexit".
