Diggers Trophy

What do you mean "We can't join SOS?" Where else are we going to meet so many good-looking blokes?

Today, we were competing for the Diggers Trophy.

But it was PAR!!!

Where the worst score possible is -18, and the best possible is +18.

Almost Stableford minus 36, but not quite, because those Stableford scores of one point become a minus when you play Par. And you don't get any bonus points for a birdie.

Harsh

So - a difficult game at which to get a good score. (Didn't stop one or two of us, though)

A heavy shower before we started, then perfect conditions for the rest of the day.

That's why we live here!

And that's why I live here...

Followed by (oh, joy!) a sausage sizzle at Perry Lakes.

Tony's first sausage sizzle (the first of many, we hope..)

Doesn't get much better than this...

How did your Trick and Treating go? Round our way they generally set the dogs on you.

Golden Hole failed to go off, so $20+ for next week. Not quite up to the jackpot currently on offer on the Old Course,

I need to talk to Lindsey about a new mantlepiece

Birthday greetings were offered to Peter.

(And RIP the ducks).

Shelley introduced us to the special fines for the month of November - with all proceeds going to a Veteran's charity.

It's now time to pay for your annual dinner tickets is you haven't already done so - $45 for members, $75 for your guests. Transfer to the SOS account, or cash to Shelley. Promises to be a great night, as always.

Finally - now I'm eligible for the Masters

Frances was awarded the SOS Cup trophy, which she won a couple of weeks ago.

Nest week, it's back to stroke on the Tuart course - both the Memorial and the Masters trophies will be awarded. The Masters trophy will be competed for by all those who have previously either won a two-week competition or the Match Play trophy.

The Memorial trophy is open to all players. It is, of course, possible for one player to win both trophies.  Now here's a cautionary tale..

See you next week. Meanwhile, this guy's clearly in the running for coach of the year:
