Stableford

Peter practising for the mini-golf competition.

Was it the lure of the AGM?

Or the promise of a sausage sizzle with a difference?
You see him here, you see him there...

No matter - a decent turn out

I've fitted a stick shift and a turbocharger

Some very decent scores

And very pleasant weather

A decent cover of cloud

First sweaters of the season
The slightest of drizzles

And a warning of what might have been, those few moments the cloud cleared and the sun scorched down on us.

Then off to Perry Lakes

For Participation in Action

Democracy in the Raw

Yes, it's the eagerly awaited AGM (just a hint of irony there)

Your new committee looks like this

POSITION

President
Derek

Captain
Vickie

Vice-captain
Gary

Treasurer
Shelley

Bookings Officer
Glen

Social Organiser
Stephanie

Communications Officer
Vacant

And the committee have reviewed the local rules issue.

The decision is, at its simplest, to play the rules on the back of the card, whatever they happen to be.  This includes taking advantage of the preferred lie provision - at which point the ball may be cleaned.

You may also take advantage of a preferred lie if you find a sprinkler head in your line, as well as interfering with your lie and stance.

What's the best beer? Free beer!

The committee will revert in a bit more detail to clarify the reasons for this decision, but that's how it stands right now.

And the novelties:

Some people were unaware that our results appear in the West Australian every Monday.

Look for them under SOS Wembley.

Next week it's Opening Day - there are those of us who, in the past, have taken this as an invitation to dress outrageously.

A rose between two thorns

Let's say you won't be discouraged if you feel like raiding the deeper excesses of your wardrobe.

We'll also be playing for the Easter Cup, that's a Stableford competition.

And looking ahead to April 7th, and the Perry Lakes Cup, tradition has it that it should be accompanied by a sausage sizzle. (So it probably will be).
