Spring Cup Rnd1

Sponsored by the lovely Charmaine.

And so Spring has finally sprung, the sun is shining, the little lambies are leaping and that can only mean one thing,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

(other than the beautiful taste of mint sauce on juicy lamb)

but the First round of the Spring Cup

Let's hope from now on that the only time we need to get advice from The WeatherMan is for how hot it's gonna be, and what factor sunscreen we need to use.

And with the marvellous spring sun, it brought along an old favourite, as Tony Minjee Lee made a welcome showing back with the SOS.

I would fine you for DQing yourself, but since we're not going to see you for sometime it hardly seems worth it,,,,, hehehheeeeee

Great to see ya mate, stay well and we all hope to see you playing again very soon.

Now as you all know Saturday was my birthday,,,, but not only that,,,,,

it was my Mum & Dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary, so a massive congrats out to them,,,,,,

Let's hope you got something Beautifully Golden

And how could you top the fact that i was an anniversary present,,,,,, and a date that none of the Gardner Clan could forget.

If you couple this with the fact that my sister and mum both share the birthday of the 19th August, and my dad's birfday is the 19th September,,,,, i'm sure you can all put 2 & 2 together to come up with the fact that Xmas was a real fun time in the Gardner House.

And so to the golf,,,,, what did actually happen on such a lovely day:-

The Results
After much deliberation with rule checks, and phone calls to the Committtee and the PGA i can announce a slight shift in the results from Saturday's order:-

No change at the top as Derek The Deadly came home a true champ, a result for which i believe Wifey Fran will be hearing about it for days,,,
so a big congrats to Deadly shooting a nett 67 and taking a 3 shot lead ahead of the pack for the overall Spring Cup Winner.

Golden Hole
The princely sum of $25 oh yeah baby!!!!!
Was picked up by Glen The English Pope

Nice work buddy,,,,, i did get closer, but it was with my 'provisional' for which i will be fined later!!

Fines of the Week
I was way too busy drinking and celebrating to write much down this week, so it will be a tad lacklustre compared to normal,,,,, but here goes:-

Gary-- for acting like a big sulky bear for not getting a write-up in either The Blog or a mention in the paper.
Now somebody did send me your winning pic of accepting the prize, but another gremlin has crept in and taken it away,,,, so you'll have to make do with this heheheheheheheee

Ciaran-- for 'Getting the Thirst' last night.
After saying to his beloved he wasn't going to drink on Friday night, the Evil Drinking Devil jumped him unexpectedly and forced Guinness & Whisky in abundance down his unsuspecting throat.
Damn you Evil Drinking Devil!!!

Gim-- for it all being a little bit too much on the course and having to have a little Nanna Nap on the 13th

Kerry to Paul-- After i had come back from a Bunnings Show with a lovely Teddy Bear named Brett she was heard to exclaim:-
"Come on, get it out and give it to him. I want to see his face when you give it to him!"
I did try to put a 'hex' on the bear, which clearly didn't work, tho you will notice that the bear seems to have a deviant side as he didn't make it out of the choking wrapper.

Vickie-- for providing us with the wrong cards and then sloping off/running away to do something much more betterer.

The above is a 'Wrong Card'-- Google them they're very funny!!!!!!!

Paul-- on the Golden Hole after studying closely the distance, wind direction and elevation,,,,hooking his first into the trees on the lefft and having to play a bloody provisional which he then struck gloriously to within a foot of the hole
He stood perplexed and said "What would Putin do?"
Clearly Putin would never play golf but would fish like a demon.
