Ambrose on Tuart

The summer weather enticed 24 players to turn up for a 4 ball Ambrose on the Tuart Course. The 6 teams included new SOS members Mitchell and Mark Smith as well as guest Craig Thompson.

While there was a bit of wind and cloud around, the sun had a bite to it requiring liberal hydration throughout the round and at the clubhouse when finished!

There was commotion on the tee as the 3rd group

A matter of perspective?

Brett catches up on SOS finances with Treasurer Shelley.

The presidents Address

Brett brought the meeting to order thanking the committee and other members for their efforts organising next week's Annual Dinner.

Brett noted that Greg Dunkeld would be celebrating his birthday on the 23rd of November, but is currently engaged in harvesting and therefor unable to be with us.

Also, a welcome back to Oz for Carol and Keith Barrow who have returned from overseas and managed to join the meeting today!

The Results

A remarkable low score of 55.75 won the event for Group 3, with Group 2 coming close behind with 56.875, a margin of only 1.125 points!

Brett, Ian, Richard & Peter were each awarded a bags of lollies for coming last! The award surprised several team members who thought they had performed well and were expecting to be on the podium!!

Golden hole

The Golden Hole was on hole 6 this week and no-one was able to get close enough to claim the meagre prize.  The 'pot' was claimed in the two preceding weeks, so the carry over prize is only about $25.

Novelties

The Ambrose format restricted the novelties to par 3's and longest drives. Congratulations to the winners for executing some fine strokes!

Players were encouraged to dig deep for the worthy cause!

Even Keith Barrow, who did not play today, found reason to be fined!
