Club Championship, Round 7

 Club Championships again!

Another punishing stroke round

And Gerry's birthday.

Birgit stayed at home to make something special for his tea.

Absolutely perfect weather

How good is WA?

Chloe joined us (otherwise she would have had to play with a bunch of scruffy blokes)

Fortunately she didn't win the raffle.

That's always a bit embarrassing when you've just come along first time. (OK to win next week, Chloe)

Pug Dog managed to hit five separate trees on one hole. This is probably a record.

Actually, it is a record. This is Taken by Trees, whose record of Sweet Child of Mine craps all over the one by Axel Rose.

Why did Richard Osborne have such a shocker today? According to Gim, he was playing with too many ladies.

No, I didn't say anthing either.

Now, what's the ruling when you're shot ends up in Stephanie's buggy?

In the PGA Manual it's called a  BINTOB - Buggy Interfering with Normal Travel Of Ball

Gerry reminded us of a couple of local rules that we need to be aware of. Free drops from any garden bed, free relief from staked trees, and ability to change your lie on the fairway (only) up to one card length (or grip on the club).

Peter Baird sends his apologies, he tripped over on Wednesday, stumbling on a box his grandson was playing with . He assures us he was stone cold sober and not wearing a kilt at the time. Presumably all present were much relieved.

Keith and Carol are in Helsinki.  Looking to make it back in time for the Annual Dinner, all being well with g2g, etc, but anticipating having to quarantine on return nonetheless.

Shelley is accepting payment for the Country Cup, $55 members, $65 guests. This includes cart and lunch. Pay her cash or transfer to the SOS account (not Glen's booking account).

We welcomed back James Weaver. At least we did, until he snaffled half the novelties.

And a good round from a couple of golfers in the first group, who managed to head up the leader board on the afternoon, to be joined by Lynne. Well done to those three.

And just to finish, a few golfers very kindly shared the details of some of their poorer holes today. Watch, learn and digest:
