Club Championship Round 6

Favorable weather yet again as a large field of 22 members and 5 guests assembled for another round of the Club Championship competition on the Old Course.

The start was at 8.00 am, which was a bit of a shock to the system for those that were accustomed to start times an hour or more later!

Golden Hole

The Jackpot continues to climb as, yet again, no-one was able to get close enough to the pin on the par 3, hole 16.

Liquid refreshments the order of the day !

Birdies

Congratulations to the following players who 'skillfully' managed to secure a birdie:

Or maybe a bit of luck helped 🐧 !

Eagles

No eagles scored today!

Ash Tray Collection

Earle Scarff graciously accepted the bag of lollies and summoned members to cough up their loose change to atone for one or more of the long list of fine-able misdeeds.  There were plenty of 'bunker to bunkers', lost balls, 'tree to fairways' and 'blond moments' to keep the coins coming!

Raffle

The raffle has become a Chook Raffle as the 1st prize just got better  . . . read on !

Stephanie wins the Raffle 1st prize scratchie . . . and
a cooler bag with a cooked chook!

Next Week

The Battle of the Amazons! An SOS first ever Matchplay Womens final!

Stephanie and Bernie will contest the final of the 2020 Matchplay competition being held on the Tuart Course.  Other players will contest another game which will be announced on Thursday with the release of the players list.

Paul Gardner - 50 years young !

Many SOS Golf members along with a hoard of Paul & Kerry's Aussie mates turned up at the Elemental Music studios to celebrate Paul's 50th birthday on Saturday night.

Good music - Good Food & Good Company !

Derek, Earle, Frances, Lynne and Vickie before
tucking in to pork and gravy rolls.

Derek's displayed his unique skills on the soccer game !

Paul on the dance floor soaking up the music being produced
by a man on the drums and three guitarists.

Great sound and mood created by flashing lights and acoustic panels!

Lynne about to select a bag full of lollies from
the splendid variety on display.

Paul sounds an emotional note as he thanks everyone who came to help him celebrate his half century innings as well as his imminent return to the Old Country.

Kerry's amazing catering skills were very apparent as the pig-on-spit was perfectly cooked and gravy and buns consumed with relish!

To Paul & Kerry . . . .

You will both be sorely missed from the Saturday golfing lineup and for your significant contribution to the management and social events which have made SOS Golf so enjoyable for its members.
