Club Championship, Round 7

Thanks to Peter for his great blogs while I've been away. I see his last one got 69 views, which was about fifty more than actually played, so there's a few people out there who really need to find something a bit more interesting to do with their time - especially the one who viewed from Poland!

I have lots of fans in Poland

Last round of the Club Championship, only four more rounds of stroke until Christmas. Phew.

Next week, while we're not playing on the Saturday, Wembley are holding slots for up to eight people if you'd like to play.

Sunday is the Country Cup at Meadowsprings. Tee off is at 9, be there 08:30 at the latest to get your cart organised and make the most of the range balls that Gary has organised. If you haven't paid yet, either bring cash on the day, or do a funds transfer as per the email that was sent out yesterday. The fee is $75 for members, which includes lunch, cart and range balls as well as the round.

There'll also be a super-raffle.

Who's that handsome bloke playing in the SOS group?

Here's the menu for lunch:

  • Homemade Hamburger and Fries
  • Gluten free option - Chicken Salad
  • Steak Burger and Fries
  • Chicken Burger and Fries
Give Gary your order before the tee-off. And if you haven't let him know yet that you are playing, do let him know.

Two handsome blokes, if you don't mind
And the good news is that the Golden Hole didn't go off. The even better news is that it has now jackpotted to $311. We gather in the past that certain members have been camping out on the 16th tee midweek and surreptitiously practising the hole again and again in between booked groups.

This seems contrary to the spirit of it all, but I can find nothing in the constitution that actually doesn't allow it. So good for you.

I've got a worn second hand copy of this book for sale

Today, Barry put his third card in, with a creditable 99 off the stick.

So, how did everyone else go?

No photo of the winner, but a very worthy second

So, next week the Country Cup, followed by Stableford on the Tuart on Oct 5, by which time the cored and sanded greens should be back to normal.
