The Red Devils |
Another day of nail-biting tension as the Match Play Competition moves into its second week. With two points for a win, one for an all square result, and absolutely nothing for a loss, the potential finalists are beginning to come out of the woodwork.
So, without more ado, let's get straight down to the results.
First, the novelties.

We note in passing that Phil McKeague managed to score birdies on the 8th, 10th, 11th, and 17th. Hitting form just when you don't want to be playing against him in Match Play. And 35 Stableford points for Roland, who managed to compete very effectively against himself in a one-man competition.
The sign says it all |
And, in anticipation of his birthday next week, Gary managed to pick up the Golden Hole Jackpot, which stood at a respectable $73. Should be just enough for the babysitter when you take Lin out to celebrate.

Hope it warms up a bit. |
Hurry up and take that picture |
Rita would like to mention that had personal experience of that wonderful expression "going arse over tit" this afternoon - fortunately her airbags deployed in time and there were no serious injuries, although Ron did rush over and volunteer to rub them better.
And what of the competition itself? Mostly close fought tussles, with the competition coming down to the last few holes. Not too many gimmes on the putting green, we gather - true match play intensity.
Give him the putt? Tell him he's dreaming. |

A capital investment pays off for Greg |
So, next week, Round 3, before we move on to the finals. And we'll congregate afterwards at Wembley again, unless it's pouring with rain.
