Par Plus

ODE TO SPRING

Spring has sprung
The grass has riz
I wonder where the birdies is?
The little bird is on the wing.
But that's absurd!
Because the wing is on the bird!

Lake? What Lake? That little thing?

A beautiful morning, an early start and a small field - a great day for golf. First time we've had the sun screen out for a while.

I told Glen I wanted to play with a couple of chicks, and instead I got these two old chooks!

And in case you were wondering whether you should have joined all those other members who've jetted off to take advantage of the European summer, here's the weather forecast for London this morning:

So, a balmy 25 degrees at Wembley,  Par Plus, and you haven't had to put up with 25 hours in Cattle Class. Feeling just a little bit smug? I mean, what could be better than that?

Modelling the new shirts. Available in sizes for the svelte or sturdy gentleman.

Well, some decent scores to start with. Seems the pressure of no pressure got to some of us. Gary retired hurt after an average round, which meant lollies for me. (Thanks a lot, Gary. Next time you're getting the lollies sent FedEx to your place if you try that trick again.)

Hi Bernie - great party at Paul and Kerry's last night, at least until all those bikies turned up.

Pleased to see the new shirts getting an airing. We're beginning to look like a proper club.

Blue, blue, my world is blue...

We've bullied Brett into having another sausage sizzle ASAP, especially if the weather is as glorious as it was today.
Yo ho ho and a bottle of, er, whatever.

Richard Yeo's score card recorded not only the rather unprepossessing result of -5, but the additional remarks that his round included 2 tantrums and 3 club throws. Returned with the comment "Could Do Better" - that'll teach him to go round with a schoolteacher!

Peace at last..

What's that they say? No short putt ever went in?

So - novelties fairly evenly spread around today:

Ian rather overdid it, one feels. He could have thrown four holes away and still won.

Off to build a new canal, or something...
We wish him well in Panama (Hope you've had those Yellow Fever shots, Ian).
