American Foursomes

Did someone say Irish Foursomes?
Got out of the car - blues skies from horizon to horizon. Then this.

Didn't see that on the radar

You go and play golf - I'll have a little flutter on the horses.

So, a very small and sorry crew went from shirt to jumper to rain jacket to umbrella to jumper to shirt and back again several times on a day that really couldn't make up its mind.
This could be our day

And talking of sorry - that was probably the most useful word of the day. Oops, sorry. Sorry again. Oh dear, whoops, sorry.
He still hasn't hit one on the fairway for me..

Apologies to all those players who ended the game with very sore shoulders.
First fairway he's hit all day - shame it's the wrong one.

And an especial apology to Greg, whose playing partner, who will remain anonymous, unleashed a particularly errant drive on the seventeenth. This necessitated a shameful and embarrassing return to the sixteenth fairway for Greg, from where he was forced to take his shot surrounded by another playing group, who were clearly muttering about what a lousy player he was to have ended up there from the tee.

Man with big book.
Where was everybody today? Twelve players in total? We could have shared a cart.
But is it your shot or mine?

A heads up re the Country Cup. The plan at the moment is for a game on Oct 4th at Rockingham. However, given that this is the day after the grand final, which may be between the Dockers and the Eagles, and is also a public holiday weekend, there would seem to be a case for rescheduling in the future. The committee will meet soon and explore options for following years.
Quietly confident

Next week is the first round of the Spring Cup.
Christmas in September? Tell him he's dreaming..
Grass trees have a haircut
Don't get between a man and his lollies

A note from the Captain. Last week he accepted a fine on the basis of having fallen foul of the rule that stipulates a ball may be replaced if struck by another ball on the green, but not on the fairway. Having consulted the book, however, it appears that this was incorrect. A ball may be replaced if struck on the fairway.
Glad I don't have to play that ball next.

Sausage sizzle is scheduled for two weeks time - that's September 5th.

Malcolm invests big in the raffle...
