WA CUP

.

The last group finally stumbled into the bar after a tiring round, only to find a mood of general despondency and gloom had settled upon the players.

.

What was the cause? Had the grim reaper called for one of our own? Had the Eagles been thrashed by the Scarborough under-11s? Had Steph finally had elocution lessons and lost her lovely Kiwi accent?

None of the above. Apparently, there was NO RAFFLE!

Accusations flew left and right. Goochy had it. Carol had taken it to England to play housey-housey on the plane. Pugsy was running an illegal casino in Baldivis with it.

But there it was. Or not. The only reason we turn up on a Saturday, and it wasn’t there. If you have any information, please ring Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.

.

In the meantime, yes, we played golf. A lovely day, a bit crisp at the off, but as long as you stayed in the sun it was very pleasant.

Pugsy offers Lynne some advice on how to esape a tricky lie. Did it work? See results below.

And with a small field, there was every chance to take away a trophy with a less than stellar score. As it proved.

.
.

Earle had very sneakily booked himself a lesson before the game started today. A thorough overhaul of his swing resulted in a slut on the first tee. However, he redeemed himself subsequently, and the result speaks for itself - see later.

.

Vickie’s knee is improving daily, and she now manages to walk unaided. Earle reports that the required exercises are not getting the attention they deserve. Do the right thing, Vickie, and hurry back to SOS, we miss you.

The absolute ecstasy of a tap-in birdie!

Next week - round 3 of the Club Championship on the Old Course - that’s right, back to stroke play.

Lynley carries off the Golden Hole - well done!
So Earle's pre-game lesson paid off in spades! We gather Wembley is now being overwhelmed with requests for lessons on Saturday mornings.
