Par

Need a bit of a lift? Sing this while you're having your shower - don't worry, no-one can hear you.

Blue skies
Smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies
Do I see
Bluebirds
Singing a song
Nothing but bluebirds
All day long
Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly
Blue days
All of them gone
Nothing but blue skies
From now on
See - don't you feel better now? What a glorious day it was - never mind about the golf.
Nothing but blue skies for us
But Par is a tough game for us high handicappers. Where we might have scraped a Stableford point, that's a flat minus in this game. Never mind - back to match play next week.

And, in the absence of too many pictures from today's match, here's a couple from the archives back in 2012 - our St Patrick's Day celebration at Perry Lakes.

The bids are rolling in for Eric's super foldaway buggy. If you're interested, send me your bid to
Highest bid received by 6pm on July 1 will win it.
All the specs are here:
Eric's buggy comes with the seat accessory, which is worth another $55 or so.
Gambling away the housekeeping again
Our guest, Jodie Stanger, came in with a -6, a score which still managed to beat half a dozen SOS players. Well done, Jodie.

And an excellent fines collection from Greg - we'd forgotten how good he is at it, it's been such a long time.

Lynne excelled herself on the fifth, where she apparently managed to drive her ball out of sight between Rob's legs. The story is he was masquerading as a tree.

And if you missed our celebrity bookings officer on the tv this week, here he is:

And here's a golf truism someone shared the other day - any change works....for three holes.

If you're one of those people who has difficulty focussing during your backswing, this guy has some useful hints:

And Peter managed to pick up a fine or two for leaving his clubs scattered around the course. I guess when you pick up the Golden Hole it probably goes to your head for a bit.

A great round from Jack, who showed us all how to play Par. Congratulations!

Next week, final qualifying round of the Match Play on the Old Course, followed by American Foursomes on July 7th. Don't panic, we'll remind you of the rules before then.
So - who are you playing next week? Here are the match-ups.

And remember, it's surprisingly easy to hole a 50-foot putt when you lie 10!
