Perfect conditions, albeit a little chilly, greeted a field of seasoned professionals vying for the coveted East Cup that was celebrating its 45th playing. The winner of the cup last year Stephanie, managed to arrived just prior to her allotted tee time. The ideal conditions were promising of some very impressive scores, sadly that was not the case, and we'll get to that a little later.
Little effort was put into dressing for the occasion however, the Easter Bunny did manage to drop off a basket full of eggs, albeit a little early
.Some ladies were quick on the uptake
Roland was as usual dressed immaculately, as was Garry holding Coops coffee
Good to see both Earle and Vickie teaming up with Vickie returning a solid round, and a top 10 finish
We also welcomed Faye Millar to the club as a guest, and hopefully new member. We need more ladies to participate and restore a healthy balance to the membership.
SPOTS OF BOVVER
After a complete absence of spots of bovver last week the norm was reestablished with a couple of doozy's
Dave Millar found himself tight up against a substantial tree on the 17th but still managed a smile and score a point
Not to be outdone Gerry regressed to his Canadian Lumberjack days and found himself in a particularly woody lie. Actually I'm not sure what he's up to, possibly gathering wood for a sausage sizzle on the Barbie
Coops woofed off his bacon and cheese toasty so quickly that time lapse photography was required and the SOSage's limited budget doesn't extend to that level of sophistication. In desperation we have reverted to a stock photo.
THE SCORES
(could have been a lot better given the conditions on the day)
THE WINNERS & LOSER
(Unfortunately no photos)
First place - Peter Baird (back to his old form following a successful knee replacement)
Second place - Captain Keith Barrow RN (Ret.). Ask Keith to explain this to you when you next play.
Third place - Karl (and very grateful for it after a prolonged slump in form resulting in being "Soft Capped" by GA. Oh the embarrassment and indignity of it)
Unbelievably Goochy took home the lollies
Despite last weeks prediction on Coops potential to come back from winning the "Mugs Cup" to take out the Easter Cup this week he instead narrowly missed taking the lollies.
Stephanie forgot to bring the Easter Cup with her (maybe she doesn't want to part with it) and I'm therefore blaming her for my failure to take a photo of the winners..
BIRDIES
(not many)
#13 - Peter
#15 - Andrea

Golden Hole #16 - Club Which has now jackpotted to more money than Hesta hold in the superannuation fund. Next week it's my understanding that two holes on the Tuart will be nominated as Golden Holes, is that correct?
Great day out for the Boquest's on their return as the dynamic duo. It was quite a day for dynamic duo's with Earle & Vicky, but no Derek who missed out on an Easter egg.
POST MATCH PRESENTATIONS & FESTIVITIES
CLUB NEWS
Unfortunately Glenn's daughter couldn't make it today for the handing over of the money raised by our club for the Charlies Angels Foundation, so that will now be next week.
With Gardy away on holiday in Thailand the fines bucket was looking a little lean.
FROM THE PRESIDENTS DESK
Did you know that the club has a Facebook page? Well we have, and Gerry is the FB master.
It is a private group for our members and we can make it more active !
If you would like to share some pics or some news with our members, add something like a golf video lesson or funny video or even to sell something (mainly golf item or something else). Also between us If you would like to share some rules info (We have album for Rules , interesting info )
Any interesting item you thinks can be added.
The FB page is not replacing our Famous Blog, it is in addition
COACH'S CORNER
As a result of some fairly ordinary scoring we have added this new section to the blog. Who knows someone might read it and find it useful
Please remember golf is meant to be relaxing and enjoyable, sure I hear you say. Check out these guys from the past who were reasonably good golfers, and maestros in the art of playing a very relaxed style of golf. No stress there.
NEXT SATURDAY - 26 APRIL
Next Saturday we are playing American Foursomes on the Tuart Course with a very civilized tee time of 9.24, yes 9.24 (finally). Plenty of time for Coops to woof off a proper breakfast and potentially make a return to the winners circle!!
