Club Championship Round 4

The skies were blue, little to no wind and the Tuart Course was in great shape. Even the temperature was quite reasonable as 25 players lined up for the 4th Round of the SOS Club Championship.

2022 is the 50th Year of the SOS Golf Group Inc playing at Wembley Golf Course and the end of the month of June is the mid point of our celebrations!

Colin Kerr & Brett Fordham
Colin is an honorary member of SOS and has been a member for all 50 years!

Earle Scarff & Frances Longhurst ready to start!

Stephanie & Birgit are all smiles!

Hhmmm!!!
Can anyone think of a suitable caption?

On the Fairways & Greens

Mark Smith flirted with the water on the 14th hole, coming perilously close to the edge on his 2nd stroke! Mark narrowly missed a birdie from this position and had to settle for a par!

Tony James went for the stick on the 18th and was rewarded with a short putt to finish his round in style!

President's Address

Brett welcomed all present and congratulated Gary Burgess who celebrated his birthday last week, on the 21st June!

Also congratulated were Andrea and Michael Smith who are celebrating their wedding anniversary this weekend!

As a major part of celebrating SOS Golf Group's 50th year of playing golf, Brett reminded all of the upcoming night of festivities to be held at the Innaloo Lot Six Zero restaurant on 23rd July. It promises to be another great International Evening with food provided by members, an auction of many splendid things and wagers!!
See flyer toward end of blog for more details and RSVP information.

The SOS Group Captain, Gerry Tessier, congratulated Mark Wilson for scoring an impressive net 69 to win today's competition by 6 strokes!

Golden Hole

The jackpot is starting to grow in size!

Eagles & Birdies

No Eagles however, a total of 4 birdies are recorded including one scored by Tony James on the 18th!

The picture speaks a thousand words, showing Tony triumphant with his orange coloured ball a short metre from the hole!

Interesting that none of the first 16 placings managed to score a birdie, instead leaving it to the more methodical players!?  Very odd considering the tranquil conditions!?

Captains Corner

The concept of 'Ready Golf' is to speed up play and generally make the game more enjoyable for the majority of players!

SOS has adopted the Ready Golf concept of play for all competitions.
Please consider the following examples and apply them whenever it is prudent to do so.
