SOS CUP ROUND ONE

The late Stephanie Jeffares makes it in time for the last group

The first round of the SOS Cup competition.

A tactics talk?

Another of those infernal stroke rounds that can turn nasty very quickly.

Love the hat!

And of course, just to make it that much more difficult

The computer in the pro-shop was broken

So we had to use those silly little cards,

and manually enter our scores at the end.

Gerry's beautiful swing in stereo

Don't just take our word for it - watch the maestro at work:

It was once again alarm-clock golf

With a 7:24 am tee off

A little more encouraging -

at least the weather was pleasant

Here to play

Although an early sea breeze meant driving into the wind on later holes

With Linley a late scratching

Lynley substitute

There was a bit of a shuffle around the first couple of groups

With the very reliable Frances, Kerry and Andrea off first - christened "The Android Sisters" by Karl.

For those who missed it - Paul Boquest on the 10th at Meadowsprings.
He made the green!

Anniversaries were celebrated, this week by Boris and Frances, and next week by Coops and Popey.

Novelties were claimed, mostly by the usual suspects:

NTP on the 2nd, Frances, beaten by Gardy

Gardy on the tee: A hundred and thirty to the green? Hand me my putter!

NTP on the 6th, Hilly, Boris, but trumped by Pugsy

NTP in 2 on the 10th, Willow, pipped by Popey

LD on the 12th, blokes, Coops, Karl, but Pugsy again

Dave outdrives Gerry

LD on the 14th, girls, Kerry, beaten by Steph

And the golden hole remains unclaimed.

Sinking them on the practice green, no problem.

A sprinkling of birdies,

Earle on the 9th,

Pugsy on the 6th and 14th

and Popey on the 10th,

Popey double banking

Not to mention Carol wiping out a magpie on the 17th.

Andrea's drive in a spot of bother on the 14th. Still managed a 5!

A reminder, it has been decided that the Gala dinner function will cost $45 for members, and $60 for non-members - this includes all food, wine, beer etc, plus the awarding of trophies.

Pugsy has promised a pair of strippers - Vicky queried who would be joining him? The venue is to be Lot 60 at Innaloo.

And the results for the first round of the Cup:

Not today, it wasn't!

They were just dropping in the hole all day!

Next week, the second round, on the Tuart at 7:24 again, so set those clocks. And remember:
