Fellowship Day

The Tuart Course was the battleground for the annual competition between members of the SOS Golf Group Inc. and of the West Australian Blind Golfers Association.

The competition has been held over 30 times and the prize is possession of the Fellowship Trophy for the next 12 months!

The scoring system for the competition was designed to allow for all players to contribute to the result. The stableford scores for each camp were aggregated and divided by the number of players to arrive at an average score for the players in each team. The team with the highest average score wins!

The Fellowship Trophy

The weather was ideal and the fairways and greens in great shape!

Frances, who had the misfortune to score the least number of points, read out the list of fines requiring a donation from players who transgressed!  There were many whose poor shots, lost balls, assault on wildlife etc. etc. required restitution!

Captains Corner

Can you have a practice putt in stroke play?

Yes, you can practice the putt. It is a golfing myth that seems to come up all too often, so let's get it right. In any form of competition, matchplay, stableford and even stroke play you are allowed to practice your putting and chipping on or around the green you previously played, and there is nothing in the SOS constitution or Wembley local rules against that rules, provided the practice does not delay the game !

The following link can be copied into your browser. It covers rules related to matchplay:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xwfx6CdyQUM&authuser=0

Also, here are a few rules that are better learned before the game than after!
