President's Trophy

Held by Peter for the last twelve months

This prestigious trophy is one of the keenest fought over awards of the year.

It's generally accepted that the club president should tank at this event to give everyone else a better chance

This year was no exception.

Congratulations, Don. Another great round.

And to make it a very special day, the biggest ever Golden Hole jackpot was finally claimed - courtesy of a trusty five iron on the sixteenth.

Then of course, we decamped to Al Fornetto for the SOS Annual Dinner

Our red carpet event, where glamour meets gluttony

And we celebrated well into the night.

There were awards for just about everything, not just the golf.

Gim accepted the party girl award

Vicky received a prize for her cover shot on lady golfer magazine

And Glen was honoured for his contribution to investigative journalism.

Kerry  organised a very entertaining raffle, where the chopping board became the most coveted prize,

Peter was nominated as the SOS Food Critic

Shelley very kindly wrote a cheque to pay for the meal. One of the millennials present was heard asking "What's that lady doing?"

And the top golfing trophies were awarded. We'll publish a full list of the trophy winners next week.

Club Champion Glen celebrates his win...again. Well done, a great achievement.

Meanwhile, Shelley and Malcolm are heading off on Wednesday for exotic locations, and we won't be seeing them again for a while - have a wonderful time and we look forward to hearing about it when you get back.

Next week, back on the Tuart for a game of Ambrose 4's. That's the one where you rely on someone else in the team to do the good shots, while you wind up and try something you saw someone on the telly do a couple of weeks ago, but you're never practised and aren't too confident about whether you're going to pull it off.
