Conditions were ideal as 17 SOS players lined up to do battle in the 1st round of the Matchplay competition. Roland gallantly withdrew as the odd player out as he has other commitments in later matchplay days. Three guests, Kirsten Anastas as well as Kalgoorlie residents Carl and Zac Naake were welcomed.

| Birgit made an excellent approach to the 14th hole but, not as good as Barry who managed just two shots to within 4 metres of the hole. As the Novelty competition was closest in 3, Barry made short work of claiming the prize! |

President opens meeting
SOS President Gerry Tessier opened the meeting by congratulating Greg Bennett on his recent birthday. Shelley noted that it was also World Beer Day in commemoration of Malcolm's birthday!
We also welcome back Gary Burgess from his competition play in Great Britain where he played on several famous courses including St Andrews. Gary finished the global disability competition in the top ten players; a great effort!
Next Week's Competition - the 3rd round of the Club Championship will be played on the Tuart Course commencing aroud 9.16 am.
Matchplay auction night - a reminder that the auction of the 8 remaining players in the Matchplay Competition will be held on 11 July at the Lot Six Zero eatery in Innaloo. This is always a fun night with Brett Fordham weilding the gavel ! Donations of other auctionable items from members prior to the event will be very well received. Please contact Roland or Paul G.

Ladies longest drive on hole 2 - Steph beaten by Andrea
Golden Hole on hole 3 - still no winner since 11 October 2025 !!!!
Mens longest drive on hole 4 - James
NTP in 2 on hole 10 - Kirsten, Roland, both beaten by Shelley
NTP in 3 on hole 14 - Andrea beaten by Boris
Golden Hole #2 on hole 18 - Roland who won $29.
Birdies
There were 5 only birdies scored today:
3 by Roland on 7, 15. & 18
1 by Shelley on the 16th (a blind 'chip in' from 20 metres)
1 by Coops on the 15th
Raffle
The raffle was a bit of a two-sided event with Barry winning both 1st prize ($10) as well as one of the later draws ($5) ! A total of $55 was raised and $30 paid out in prizes.
Earle also cleaned up with two $5 wins.
Ash Tray Collection
Paul G and Gerry pitched in to collect the fines, which claimed a total of just $25 towards the SOS Ash Tray Fund; used for donations to the WABGA and other worthy causes! Collective amnesia or too many 10 & 20 cent pieces?
