SOS Cup Round 1

The 1st of 2 rounds for the SOS Cup attracted 23 members. It was stroke play which made each hole as important as the next and missed 'unmissable' putts could drop you any number of places down the results list!

Boris & Gardi!
Looking confident?

The temperature climbed to the mid 30's while not a cloud in the sky! Sunscreen, hydration and shade assisted players in maintaining their game!

Mitchell & Nuria dressed for the warm weather!

Earle & Andrea ready to hit the 1st tee.

Keith's ball was half buried in an ants nest and he sought relief
under the burrowing animals provisions of the rules of golf!

SOS Golf Group President, Tony Gooch, welcomed players to the post match gathering and noted the success of the Country Cup held last week at the Sun City Country Club, Yanchep!

Tony holds the attention of the west end of the table.

Two birthdays were celebrated for later this week with Earle Scarff 's on Wednesday, 11 May, and Bernie Caffrey on Thursday 12th!

ASH TRAY FUND COLLECTION

Mark Hill won the bag of lollies and put on a spirited performance calling out the list of fines. Members managed to donate a total $27.95 toward SOS's philanthropic activities which, while on the low side of recent collections, perhaps indicates an improved game being played by members?!

RAFFLE

The raffle raised a total of $50 and the winning number was held by none other than Honorary Life Member Greg Bennett!

Boris also scored a minor raffle win!

Next Week

The 2nd and final round of the SOS Cup will be played on the Tuart Course.

Captain's Corner

There have been recent instances where SOS players score cards have differed from the score reported on the printed 'Miscore' competition results sheet!

Please note that the only result that will be considered official by SOS will be that shown on the scorecard, provided that it has been signed by both player and marker as being correct.

It is therefor essential that the scores recorded on the scorecard are diligently checked by both player and marker prior to signature by both.

When the scorecard is subsequently processed by the pro-shop scanner the person processing the scorecard should ensure the scores on the card match that being recorded by the scanner.

End 💨
