EASTER CUP on Tuart 08.04.2023

Despite coldish weather conditions and a long Easter weekend 24 players

found their way to Wembley to play for the Easter Cup.

BEFORE THE GAME

As always Lynley & Lynne dressed for the occasion,
with a sinister Boris marking his ball,

Birgit & Shelley not looking bad either

A crowd (Harold, Sandra, Gerry, and Michael)
gathers around Greg & Colin's cart

a quick Birgit & Andrea selfie before the 1st group tees off

while the average player warms up
with 20 driver shots & a max of 4 puts

ON THE FAIRWAYS & GREENS

Someone got the golden hole,
but who is congratulating whom?

YESS, Earle got his shot
144 cm from the hole and birdied it

Well, you cannot be lucky all the time, this drive on hole # 6
was far away from the green and resulted in zero pts

Carol & Shelley keep their distance,
yep flu season is about to start.

One of Shelley's shots on #15,
cozily nested in a bed of leaves (it's Easter right?)

Whacking it out, the hole was lost though.

another unlucky shot on hole 15,
Lynley chipping it out

THE RESULTS

Carol is on a roll and won the cup with an impressive score of 39 points, we might
want to analyze this"orange pekoe" tea she's drinking during the game.
Keith, any insight?

Congratulation especially to Greg & Gemma for winning the longest drives.

AFTER THE GAME (HOLE #19)

Due to our late tee time, we couldn't occupy our usual spot in the clubhouse and had to sit outside.
Note to myself & others: bring a jacket or jumper.

some serious-looking clouds in the background

Peter & Shelley doing club business observed by Lynne

a bit of after golf blablabla...

Derek does what he's not allowed to at home:

Andrea is getting ready reading
out the novelties

which are presented in an Easterly fashion

Earle and his $150 win....
where's the champagne?

Derek and the lollies.
Keith looks envious!

Gemma & Andrew & their 3 (!!!) raffle vouchers,

has been returned by Hilly (fine to be decided by the captain).

LADIES CORNER

We introduce "PINK PASSION" as next week's competition.

We play Stableford in teams of 3 or 4.
  • Print the white scorecard for your individual stableford score and grab a team scorecard.
  • Each team gets a pink ball which has to be played by one player on each hole for the entire hole.
  • The pink ball score & the best score has to be added to create the team score per hole.
  • In case the pink ball is the best score the pink and the next best score counts.
  • Each player needs to play pink a minimum of 4x, but there is no fixed sequence of playing.
  • In case you lose the pink ball the team has to nominate another ball as the pink ball.
  • The fine for losing the pink ball is $5.

Everybody is encouraged to wear pink, no matter what (a scarf, a shirt, pants, socks or just a pink ribbon)
There will be prizes for the winning team and as well a surprise prize for the best player.

lots of empty glasses at the end of the day
