PAR

What a beautiful day - perfect weather for golf, and it was par.

We all love par, don’t we?

Apparently not. Only five groups, and a total of eighteen players.

No-one likes ending up with a negative score.

Steph arrived far too early today, having read the wrong sheet.

I thought it said 08:30?

How did she use the time constructively? Did she have a putt, a go at the driving range, practice getting out of bunkers?

See how much I saved!

None of the above. She went into the pro-shop and browsed the merchandise.

Fortunately by purchasing a new top that was on special, she managed to save $24. She’ll be putting that towards the next new top. If she saves another $24 on that she’ll have got it for $0.

The kiosk has done the right thing
Coming soon!

This week Gary’s off to Queensland to compete in the Qld All-Abilities Championship at the Redcliffe Golf Club. Cheer him on Thursday and Friday.

Apparently, it's not on TV

The fines revealed a few interesting miscreants - there was Barry who managed to hit Mike’s ball, and Earle who kept a very tight hold on the marker for the boys’ longest drive. Such a tight hold that he didn’t even put it out.

And Shelley was penalised for excessive swearing - apparently she uttered a very quiet and subdued “knickers” under her breath at one point. For Shelley, that’s excessive!

Knickers!
I think I'll take a lob wedge and clear that blackboy. Not.

Greg was awarded a very prestigious trophy that he had managed to win a couple of weeks ago. It’s the Mugs’ Trophy, and as he studies it tonight he’ll see that there are some very celebrated names amongst the previous winners.

Congratulations Greg! You’re in very good company.

Did anyone rush home to watch the football?

The novelties were hotly contested as always.

Colin seems well represented in the also-rans, or at least the not-quite-rans. The usual suspects picking up the chocolates.

Give the missus a break next week, Mark

And talking of chocolates - not the best scores today. In fact, only one player in positive territory.

Paul’s having a pretty good run at the moment. Time for the handicapper to act, perhaps.

Mark backs every horse in the race - and wins!
And makes sure he doesn't have to go back for seconds.

Next week, another very popular competition. That’s right, it’s time for match play!!! We all enjoy that, don’t we?
