SOS Winter Cup Final Round

The second and final round of the SOS Winter Cup was played on the Tuart Course in cool but fine conditions! No rain, no wind, just a very pleasant winter's day!

After the round, an auction was held of the Match Play quarter finalists. The final 8 have recently changed as 3 have withdrawn due to other commitments! See the auction results and the quarter final pairings later in the blog.

The Fairways & Greens

It did not take Peter long to slice a 6 iron into the right rough on the par 3, hole 3. It was 3 off the tee for a total of 6 strokes - an early harbinger of things to come!

Peter locates his ball in the bush assisted by Lynne!

TJ  & Shelley both getting ready for their bunker shots on the 10th!

TJ prepares to blast out of the bunker!

Mark Wilson putting for par. Got close (3 feet) but no cigar!!

TJ’s 5th shot and Birgit‘s 3rd shot on fairway of hole 15.

There were many members only too willing to capture Puggy's plight when his buggy plunged into the greenside bunker on the 15th, capsized and spewed 15 of his spare golf balls onto the sand!

Puggy & buggy in the trap on the 15th!
Birgit caught the action from the 16th tee!!

No less than 15 balls fell out of Puggy's bag when it capsized!

Step 1 - Extract buggy from trap.

Step 2 - Re-enter trap to recover surplus balls

Step 3 - Now??! Which was the ball I was playing with?

Free French fries!!

New SOS shirts (nicely wrapped in plastic bags) were handed out to those that ordered them!

President's Address

Brett Fordham welcomed all present noting there were no members birthdays to celebrate during the current week!

Brett noted the SOS 50th Anniversary International Dinner will be held next Saturday evening at Lot Six Zero in Innaloo. A lot of planning and organisation has gone into the event which promises to provide Members, partners and guests an enjoyable and entertaining evening! Many members and others have donated a wide variety of unique and valuable items which will be auctioned at the event in order to raise funds for the SOS 50 year anniversary celebrations! A variety of cuisine from around the world will be served up from the kitchens of SOS members!!

The fines list yielded an avalanche of coins as members atoned for their lost balls, García's, abuse of equipment and many others!

Peter's bag of lollies - he also won a ball in the raffle!
