I always like to start the round with clean balls! |
It's the second round of the Winter Cup.
Pretty serious |
A serious undertaking for those still in the running.
Very little at stake for us |
A relaxed and enjoyable game of golf for the rest of us, with less at stake.
Especially after scoring a ten on the first hole. (For instructions on just how to score ten on the first hole, see the end of this blog)
Gary and Boris undecided on correct orientation of umbrella holder. |
The novelties were keenly fought over as always:
It's the well-established legal precedent of primi veni-I was first |
The tension was palpable |
This could be mine...this could be mine.. |
And the second round leaders |
There were a few die-hards who stayed on long after the raffle.
Die hards...and proud of it! |
There's more to SOS than just the golf! |
AND NOW, HOW TO SCORE A TEN ON THE FIRST HOLE
1. Hit first ball high into the trees on the left.
2. Wait for other players to hit ball down centre of fairway.
3. Hit provisional ball high into trees on the left.
4. Set off to look for balls in trees on the left.
5. Fail to find either ball.
6. Face prospect of walking all the way back to tee to be hitting five.
7. Decide, f*** it, write ten on card and walk to second tee.
Winners are grinners |
