The second round of the SOS Cup, and with the early start came dewy greens, which played slow, slow, quick, quick, slow. Fine if you're doing the foxtrot, but a bit of a pain if you're putting.
Of course, you could always be doing something more interesting. Like jetting to disease central, aka the UK:

But back to the golf. Inevitably, in a two week competition it can get a bit, well, competitive. That only serves to bring out the best in our play, and Barry (aka Boris) certainly excelled himself with a birdy on not just the second, but also the eleventh.
OK, big deal you say, except that these two holes are distinguished by being index two and one on the course - a feat that doesn't appear to have been achieved within living club memory. (Guiness Book of Records suggest that Kim Jong Il managed it during the opening of the Pyongyang Golf Course in North Korea, but we discount that).
So, great golf Boris!
Generally, we expect Greg to have achieved a pretty good result on any Saturday, and today was no exception. He won the raffle!
On the day, the honours went to Stephanie, who turned in an exceptional score of 68, three points clear of Ian in second place, who was himself another point clear of Boris.
Well done all three.
So, how did we go today?

Apologies to the other ornithologists - I didn't have the cards to see all the birdies.
But it is, of course, the aggregate that matters. Gary had put in a solid marker last week, but found his putting letting him down today. Would his 75 be enough to hold off the challengers?
In the end, not quite. Beaten on countback by the surging Boris. Commiserations to our Captain, accolades to the new challenger.

Now if you've ever wondered what it looks like out of the window while you're enjoying your two weeks of quarantine, here it is, courtesy of Paul and Kerry.
Just another ten days to go isn't it guys? Maybe there'll be a bird or something? Perhaps a robin? You never know.
