After all the excitement of the Country Cup, a rather more subdued round of stroke play on the Old Course, for the first round of the coveted SOS Cup.
Frances polished it nicely before handing it back |
Cold in the shade, warm in the sun, and the greens speeding up quite considerably once the dew had burned off - a lovely day to be enjoying the great outdoors.
Get that SOS riffraff off the greeen... |
A clear winner for this week, but a good half dozen in the chasing pack next week.
Brett and TJ have decided they can't handle the pressure, and are off for a great week of fishing.
We welcomed Frances back for the afters. A week or so yet away from golf, but improving by the day.
And best wishes to Shelley, who is also recovering after medical intervention.
Birthdays for Earle, who hits the big 70 this week,
and Bernie, who is 28...again.
We said a tearful goodbye to Kerry and Paul, who have both been a big part of this club for many years.
Keep this handy when planning your next holiday |
Brett shows Paul the way to the exit |
Our loss is Newquay's gain, so make sure to catch up with them next time you're doing the Doc Martin tour of Cornwall.
And if you get to Sussex, Derek can get you a game in the Stoolball league - seriously! |
Steph expressed her concern by donating a supply of face masks, as Paul and Kerry fly into the teeth of the virus.
The Match Play trophy back where it belongs |
The first group managed to get their names on most of the novelties...and in some cases were still there at the end.

The Country Cup goes home |
And the chook wets its whistle |
But where are the clubs? |
The stroke game saw a few of us coming badly unstuck, but Gary managed to hold it together all the way through, which saw him with a three point lead.
Nailed it! |

Glen K was awarded fine of the week, for managing a triple dead sheep.
One for the all-time album - well done, guys. |
