With these two-week competitions, it's never over until it's over.
So, just bank those scores today and see if you can build on them next week.
However, we do have a couple of golfers who are undoubtedly "out in front" at the moment.
Congratulations to Barry, who celebrated a new grandchild this week.
Celebrated by taking on the grass tree, no less.
The girls commented on what a gentleman he was to play with. Ruined it for the rest of us now, Barry.
We all wished Earle a Happy Birthday for yesterday. Not a milestone one, apparently, but any birthday's a good birthday.
And even more celebrations - Brett won the weekly IGA voucher, Don won this month's $200 voucher and Paul managed the same last month. Congratulations all round.
Time to start thinking about the Annual Dinner, this year on Saturday, November 23rd.
Venue is same as last year, Al Fornetto at 199 Scarborough Beach Road, Doubleview.
There'll be menu choices, and vegetarian options for those so inclined.
Cost will be $45 for members, and $75 for their (very welcome) guests. This includes your beer, wine and soft drinks, and represents a significant subsidy to both members and guests, so do turn up and take advantage of your membership.
Last year was a lot of fun, a very enjoyable evening all round.
We played today with Dave, one of the training professionals, who managed a very tidy 70 off the stick, just missing an eagle putt on the 15th. So, still some way to go for the rest of us.
Good to see some new names on the novelties' boards this week:
Apparently after birdying the 8th, Dave was seen to be celebrating on the ground with all four legs in the air. Obviously quite a celebration.
One of his playing partners sent a photo:
Here are the scores for today's stroke round. Some excellent scores, and some from players who just had "one of those days". Don't worry, we've all been there.
So, two clear front-runners to be chased down next week. Remember, anyone who wins a two-week competition qualifies to compete for the Masters Trophy in perpetuity.
And good to see Kenny Rogers coming in with another great score:
So, just bank those scores today and see if you can build on them next week.
A winning team - it's the pants that do it |

Not only winner on the day, but also winner of the raffle!! |
Not over yet - there's still next week |
And good to see Kenny Rogers coming in with another great score:
Got to know when to hold 'em, got to know when to fold 'em... |
And look, if you didn't have the best of games today, here are some golfers who did even worse than you did. Take heart.
Love your work Derek. Good to see the club still going strong. Best regards to all from Malaysia. Mike & Christine Waters
