4BBB and MATCH PLAY SEMI-FINAL

A couple of competitions going on simultaneously, but we can cope with that.

The three musketerrs (sic)

We've spoken to Fordy before about not repairing his divots..

The weather forecast threatened small hail, fortunately no-one took any notice, and we had a lovely day of golf.

Earle and Rob teed off for their semi-final, and disappeared into the distance.

We're going to fight it out to the last hole..

SOS members bring their own sunshine with them

John and Glen fought out the other semi. Both went to the last hole, John hitting a birdie on the 11th on the way.

The results: Earle 1 up over Rob, and John 1 up over Glen.

So - the final is Earle vs John. We'll see what happens in a couple of weeks.

Flamingos back after their holiday

Meanwhile, the rest of us played 4BBB.

Except Tony, who played stroke for his second game, coming home with a very creditable 93 off the stick, and a birdie on the 11th (which apparently was very close to an eagle).

Close, very close...

Mum, Dad and Theo. I see a new member in a few years time..

The Golden Hole wasn't claimed, so jackpots to $68 for next week.

Now, I know it's in Dutch, but I can't for the life of me work out
what would be a funny caption for this. Any ideas - a golf ball
for the best entry (email to Derek)

There was a prize for the best individual Stableford score, which went to Frances, with 38 pts.

It's not how much you win, but who you beat....

There was a protest over the countback calculation, which the stewards upheld.

And we finally got around to awarding John his trophy for the Winter Cup.

It's going straight to the pool room..

Next week, it's stroke on the Old Course - the sixth round of the Club Championship. Here's a cautionary tale..

And another one....

And don't forget - avoid over-rotation and let the club do the work, or else...

See you all next week.
