Annual SOS Club Dinner

And so the night drew in for the much anticipated

SOS Annual Club Dinner

and what a night it was to be as we all dressed in various shades as the theme was GREEN.

A MASSIVE shout out must go to our Entertainment Officer, and compere Brett PrettyBoy Fordy, who did us proud with the organisation of the event and the festivities.

Nobody was really prepared for the onslaught of games and prizes that were to ensue.

Thanks also to Vickie & Earl for organising all the trophies

Peter for being the nasty debt collector, and chasing up all the funds.

And of course El Presidente Shelley for a fantastic speech fully embracing the GREEN theme and teaching us about everything that is, or should be, GREEN.

And who will ever get the picture of Malcolm's Green Balls out of their minds!!!!!!!

There was some calm before the storm, as The Gardner's were once again allowed to ready themselves at the Scarffs

On the deck getting ready to hit the dinner,,,,,, did i say how much i like your hat Earlos?

Just about to leave,,,,,,,

Trophy in the foreground, and visions of green in the background

And then it was time to welcome the guests,,,,,, i make no apologies for being in pretty much all of the rest of the photos!
You know you love it!

I do apologise if i missed anybody out throughout the night,,,,,,

The Speeches & Awards

Congrats to all those that won trophies and all the winners,,,,,,
(The winners list will be published at a later date.)

Special mention must go to Phil The Masters McKeague for the most
magnificent effort of truely dressing for the occasion.

Where on earth did you find that marvellous jacket?????

And then after the speeches,,,,,, came THE THIRSTY GAMES,,,,, well not really drinking games, but party games with prizes presented by our host with the most Brett The Hulk Fordy

Making Piles of stuff:-

Moving biscuits to your mouth- 'The Oreo Challenge'

Ready for it,,,,,

Oooops dropped it

This is harder than it looks,,,,, and it looks hard!

And then there was the rest of the night,,,,,,,

FINALLY, A BIG THANKS TO ALL THAT CAME ALONG TO CELEBRATE THE CLUB, YOU ALL MADE IT A FANTASTIC AND UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT!

ps- if anyone has a fold up carpet putting green, can i get it back please as i haven't a clue where i left it???!!!

Diggers Cup 2016

Very kindly sponsored by Colin.

And so welcome to the Diggers Cup for 2016
and didn't the weather do us proud!

Those with a distinct lack of foliage combined to use the energy of our solar panels to maximise our skills and power hitting.

Unfortunately due to the 'frying' of my brain/solar panel/bald spot etc etc i managed to lose all my notes of the game, and am having to rely on the memory of my 'beloved wifey' ,,,,,,, plus my random thoughts,,,,,,,

So please get ready to end The Worst Blog in the World Evers heheheheheheheheee.

Jan returned for some more punishment and her second round, and if she were a full member would've managed a podium finish,,,,

so well done to Jan, here's to you becoming a fully fledged member!

Gavin also shared some more pain as he came back for his third round, but i forget how well you did,,,,, sorry mucker.

Before we teed off, The Ladies gathered for a pre-match coffee to discuss tactics and the appropriate attire for this evenings' festivities for the Annual Club Dinner.

The question on everybodys lips was

"Who looks good in Green?"

Details on the answer to the above will follow, and i can guarantee those that weren't there will be amazed by the array of shades and colours..........
You will not be disappointed!!!!!

So what actually happened in golf, i hear you cry,,,,,,????

The Results
As mentioned i don't have much info here as my spies let me down, and i was my usual wubbish self,,,,,,,,
What i do have is a pic of the winner

And what a fine victory it was as Tomothy brought home the bacon with a countback over the Luscious Lyn

And then there was the rest,,,,,, so chose your own order,,,,, i can't remember, except i think i managed to come 4th with a creditable +1,,,,
but i could be wrong,,,,,

what i do know is that i didn't come last!

Novelties
Again not entirely sure what occurred here, but the Gardner Consensus managed to come up with the following:-

LD--   Shelley
NTP-- Earl
NTP-- ?????
NTP-- ?????

The Golden Hole in all it's illustrious glory did go off as Phil The Masters McKeague won the cash.

Well done to Phil and there was a rumour that prize money was put to very good use,,,,,, see The Annual Dinner Blog coming soon for proof.

Fines of the Week

No real fines of the week were recorded,
but credit must go to Wing Commander Yeo for her magnificent reading of the Military Fines.

Please remember that all Fines for the month of November will be going to an Armed Forces Charity,,,,,,,  so give generously!

Next week i'll give you a running total of where we are at for the donation,,,,,

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Random Pics
Now it was also quoted that there were too many pictures of me and wayyyyyyyyyy too many selfies in previous blogs,,,,,, and all i can say to that is Tough-Titties,,,,,,,

Masters and Memorial Trophies

Not just one, but two trophies to play for.

Do I really have to give them back?
What a club!

Two trophies? On the one day?
The president and her consort are returning from the East by train.

Steph's new career plans.

But first, some thoughts for members who weren't here with us today.

All our wishes to Greg for a speedy recovery. We're looking forward to having you back with us soonest.

And also for Frances, who broke her ankle on the twelfth hole two weeks ago. It's a rough game, this golf.

Just taking it easy..

Brett would like all meal requests for the club dinner by Monday at the latest. He's sent the forms out to everyone by email. Dinner is at 6.30 pm, in the function room at Wembley golf course. The theme, apparently, is GREEN!. Interpret that as you will.

The three amigos

Congratulations to Peter, who carried off the Golden Hole to celebrate his birthday, after having achieved a monstrous hitting up when, ignoring the protestations of his teammates, he let rip on the 6th tee. Fortunately, Derek is well used to being hit up on, so he was able to take suitable evasive action.

Divorced Pairs

Sponsored by the forever young Richard Tricky Yeo.

And so guess what??????
Yes the bloody rain came back to haunt us again, after only one weekend off,,,,

though as The WeatherMan said it was only to be a passing shower,,,,

some bloody passing shower, we got soaked!!!!!!

And the game for the day was Divorced Pairs, where you and your partner multiply their individual stableford scores together,,,,, so best to try and avoid a 'wipe' or you may end up getting 'divorced' by your partner ,,,,,,,heheheheheheee

One of us got divorced even before the game started as Earlos pulled up lame, and had to retire without a shot in anger.

He was indeed the poor broken man!

So what were the scores on the doors??????

And once again, nobody wanted to take home the cold hard cash for the Golden Hole,,,, but it did only grow by a paltry $16!!!!

Fines for November
As i mentioned last week the fines collected in November will be going to an Armed Forces charity so please give well!!!!

Please feel free to add any others in, but here's a couple of suggestions for a change of name to follow the theme

SAS Training--- already in there
Bunkers--        for general misbehavior in the sand
Under Fire--    for hitting up
Firing Blanks--for a slut
Snipers Eye--  any single putts
Uniform--        not wearing a club shirt

Fines of the week
Not very many for this week, as there were only 16 players and most were on pretty good behaviour,,,, boo hiss!!

Charmaine-- for attacking me with her 'angry umbrella' even before we got underway!!!

Rob & Richard Yeo-- for wittering on like 2 old ladies all day!!!!!

Vickie-- for trying to advise El Presidente on how to do the announcements,,,, and using the following phrase as her excuse
"I did have to carry Dick for quite a while"
Titter titter,,,,

Paul-- for swallowing flies and wretching disgustingly as it tickled my larynx
