Stableford, 22 March 2014

Old Course
Sponsor: Peter

Back to our usual Stableford game on the Old Course.
Not much to report, except that I felt very lucky to have escaped the lollies on count-back!

Oh, no... hang on a minute... Now that I think about it: as if reading my miserable score was not hard enough, on the bench at the 18th hole I got stung by a freaking bee! 1 cm away from my right eye, don't know whether I should count myself lucky or not. For sure it does not count as sex.

Now that you've finally worked out how to score in Par Bisque competitions, write it all down, it will be handy next year. By then I'll have instead forgotten everything about it.

Vice Captain Choice, 1 March 2014

(or 29 February 2014, for some of us, duly fined at the club house)

Vice Captain Choice: Girls vs Boys, Stableford, Tuart Course.

Hi Everyone.
Vice Captain's choice will be a stableford  competition for everyone.
We are only 4 ladies playing on the day, so there will be a team of 4  men playing against us, as an extra competition. I have picked out 4 men, one from each group to represent the masculine side. It's Colin, Ulrich, Graeme and Brett.  There will be extra prices for the men verses ladies competition.
Lets show the men who are the strongest in this game. Go girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Judith

So, our Vice Captain in the end decided today's competition: Girls vs Boys.
No, it's not a mud fight (that is Gary's choice), however the excitement is still ... palpable.
The only four girls will play against four selected boys (chosen in strictly random criteria). The sum of the Stableford points for each team will decide who is on top. (I can't get rid of this mud fight image).

The Girls Team
Judith, Gim, Stephanie, Charmaine.

The Boys Team:
 Brett, Colin, Ulrich, Graeme

Let's find out how it went..

Disqualifications:

Mme Stephanie, with a score of 20, turned into an even more modest 19, after our captain's decision of 1 stroke penalty for reasons that only imaginative lawyers can conceive

Then:

Rich 28
Ian 28
Gary 28
Graeme 29
Brett 29
Charmaine 30
Colin 30
Judith 30

Earle 32 (on count-back)

2nd place:
Lorenzo 33

and the winner today is:
Gim

Well Done Gim...
However I can't help wondering why, despite an almost perfect weather (although hot) we had such low scores today. And that was without Ross playing :))))

Ok, that means that today's competition...
Boys vs Girls vs Boys vs Girls:
Boys 120
Girls 115
Too bad girls! ;)

Quote of the day (and probably of the whole year 2014):
In my opinion the quote of the day is without a doubt from Ivar.
Judith turned up at the club house with the back of her white skirt covered in dark dust. Ivar: "Have you been rubbing on the black boys?"
