The second round of the Spring Cup
. |
Yes, it was still technically winter..
The ducks taking an interest on what's happening on the 2nd green |
But the weather was beautifully spring-like
. |
Perth at its very best
Earle trespassing on the 12th |
Some of us had not distinguished ourselves on the first round
So no pressure today
The only thing we turned up for, really. |
We were reminded, there’s no wipe when you’re playing stroke. If you don’t complete the hole, or you have a disaster, it’s a 10 for pars 4 & 5, and a 7 for a par 3. You don’t get to DQ - you take the maximum stroke.
Lynne's ball resting on a tuft over a hole |
Karl has completed three rounds, and has applied for membership of SOS. The committee will consider.
This is Karl |
Some novel novelties today:
. |
Nearest the bunker on the 5th (without going in) - Keith, beaten by Derek
. |
Nearest in three on the 8th - Goochy, beaten by Popey
. |
Women’s longest drive on the 13th - Carol, Vicky, Lynley, then Steph (by a mile!)
Men’s longest drive on the 13th - Vicky (?), beaten by Popey, Gary, Pugsy and then Coops.
NTP on the 18th, Keith, Earle, Gary and Steph!
Today’s results:
. |
. |
Birdies for Goochy and Peter on the 10th
Goochy's eagle putt on the 10th |
Gary on the 18th, Gardy on the 4th and 15th (both par 5s)
Carol flirts with Danger on the 14th (and someone else on the 15th) |
No birthdays today
We welcomed Vicky back after a six-month lay-off
. |
And of course, we had the sausage sizzle to look forward to
. |
Special thanks to Carol, Shelley, Earle, Vicky, Goochy who helped get it all together
And extra treats with excellent chicken strips, and a range of fine wines.
Just another great day with SOS
Next week, Club Championships, Round 6 of 7
