First of all, many thanks to Paul for standing in while I was away, and apologies for no blog last week - I was right proper crook.
Thanks to photographer Max for sending this picture of Bernie enjoying her moment of triumph. Congrats Bernie.
And this week, a word of consolation for Carol, who managed to spend her birthday at the hospital. Hoping to see you back soon fit and well.
So. four ball better ball on the old course. A nice, brisk game that saw some good, and one or two exceptional scores.
The weather kept us on our toes - some sprinkles of rain, some bursts of humidity, one or two minutes of scorching heat that were obviously left over from yesterday, and some very pleasant cooling breezes. Positively Melburnian.
Next week, we're playing for the Christmas Cup on the Tuart - a nice gentle Stableford competition, often won by those of us on higher handicaps. so let's have a good turnout, because immediately afterwards it's off to Chateau Longhurst for Christmas Cheer.
You've had a map, and I'll resend later in the week, just remember to bring your small wrapped present ($10-$15) for the Secret Santa lucky dip - there'll be food and drink in plenty.
So, how did we go today? Pretty well, generally. First the novelties:
And the individual Stableford scores (but no prizes here)
And the winning teams?
Brett and Jack combined beautifully to post a very strong score.
Lynne had to leave early, so she wouldn't have heard the groan when she picked up the first prize in the raffle.
That's it for this week. See you at the Christmas Cup and the Christmas Cheer.
