So true.. |
Another beautiful winter's day in Perth.
Plenty of time to chat before the game |
The first of the match play semi-finals teed off at the head of the field.
We're both going to give it our best shot |
The previous week Greg had edged out Brett 2 & 1, so is now pitched against Paul for the second semi-final.
New facility at Drummond's |
The rest of us played 4BBB - some better than others.
Not getting too stressed today |
There were few major dramas, although Steph did cop a fine for putting into the water on the fifth.
The novelties were suitably novel - a longest drive for handicaps seventeen and under and eighteen and above, and yes, the Golden Hole has gone off, with a neat $49 being picked up by the vice-captain. Well done, Gary.

The match play semi-final was played in good spirit, with Jan finally prevailing over Steph with a score of 4 & 2.
Played in a good spirit - well done girls |
The rest of us battled it out for 4BBB.
Let me introduce you to my coach and my caddie. |
I received a formal complaint from Frances concerning sore shoulders, while Gary and Richard combined well to come up with an impressive score, with Richard birdying the ninth and Gary parring the last four holes.
Nailed it! |
Brett managed to ferret his way around the course, and drove the green with a beautiful drive on the sixteenth, missing the eagle by the merest whisker.
Recommended attire if Brett is teeing off in the group behind |
Having instituted a new fine for doing a Baird, as in coming last one week and first the next, Peter has now discovered the root of the problem the previous week.
My hat was too tight |
With his looser hat, he is expecting a much more consistent performance.

Then we pootled off to Perry Lakes for a good old SOS sausage sizzle.
It was a small, intimate gathering, but the sausages were as good as ever.
Stephanie did all the hard work, Jan and Rob finished cooking the snags, Frances made a tasty salad, Vickie, Glen and Lynne joined us and the kookaburras and crows kept us company.
Next week, it's Round 5 of the Club Championship on the Old Course. That's a stroke competition, so hit those provisional balls if in any doubt - don't disqualify yourself because you're too knackered to walk all the way back to the tee on the seventeenth.
Remember, take it nice and easy and let the club do the work
Have a great week.
