What an event! A night to remember at "Ashley", courtesy of Toni and David, with copious curry and stars twinkling above. A day of perfect golf, or rather a perfect day for golf, with barely a breeze and neither umbrella nor sunshade required.
The greens proved our undoing, with "slippery" being a much used descriptor. Good scores were few and far between, and the "modified Stableford" had us resorting to slide-rules and log tables before returning the overall winner.
There were, however, prizes for almost everyone, as there should be - longest drives, nearest the pins, closest in 2's, and additional rewards for the 25+ brigade - again, as there should be.
But the overall winner, the doyen of Dawesville, with an overall score, highly modified, of 39 - Shelley Yeo!!
Again, most enthusiastic thanks and appreciation to our hosts, not only of the pre-match feast, but also the post-match commiserations, Toni and David. A great weekend thoroughly enjoyed.
