While none of the bloggers are playing today's blogger relies solely on the input & photos of her fellow SOS members.

DURING THE GAME

It seems everybody was busy playing golf, though Paul made a shot of Mark M's
ball on hole 11 which landed directly under a tree and was probably declared "unplayable"
He ended up with a double bogey

Captain Gerry Tessier stopped playing after 13 holes due to sickness. He's recovered in the meantime.

CAPTAIN'S CORNER

  • Next week we are playing at 7:40 on the old course
  • the formula is "Par Bisque"

Rules of Par Bisque:

  • Par Bisque is a variation on a standard par event, except the player can decide when and how many handicap strokes he or she will use on each hole.
  • This decision is made AFTER completing each hole. The player informs their maker of how many handicap strokes they wish to use for the completed hole. Over the course of 18 holes the total number of handicap strokes used cannot exceed the players’ handicap.
  • The handicap used and par score gained on any previous holes cannot be altered once the next hole is commenced. Any handicap not utilised by the end of the round is lost.
  • Marking the card is done by recording the stroke score in the first column, the number of handicap strokes taken in the second column, net score in third column and the resultant par score of “+”, “0” or “-“ in the fourth column. At the completion of play the second column should be totalled and must not exceed the players’ handicap whilst the third column should be totalled and entered at the top of the score card as the players result.
Here's how the scorecard should look like

The captain asked me to add that everybody should do his/her best to write the

scorecards legible, he sometimes feels like James Bond trying to decode secret codes.

Summer Cup Round 1

24 SOS members and 3 guests Andrew, Gemma, and Liz gathered early Saturday morning to play for the Summer Cup or maybe just to play for fun.

Well, the day started with a couple of hiccups. 😁

Goochy cancelled his game and Andrew took his place in group 1

Shelley took Andrews place in group 2

Gerry thought he would share a buggy with Paul, but ended up with Birgit

Birgit changed place with Shelley

Barry took Birgit's place in group 4

Carol was on the list in group 7, but it should have been Derek

Derek replaced Shelley in group 3

Who replaced x in group 8?

Many were confused, but no one was really concerned as everybody was having a good time chatting, discussing, drinking coffee, tea and having a late brekkie.
