Golf with the WA Blind Golfers Association

A long association with the WA Blind Golfers Association, leading to this much anticipated fixture every year.

A very warm welcome was given, and reciprocated. Great to have you back again, and meet with some old friends and make some new ones.

And a keenly fought battle for the trophy, which, unfortunately, seems to have disappeared.

WABGA versus SOS

John Mealor
 37 to 34
Gary Burgess

Vickie Scarff
 39 to 24
Ron Anderson

Malcolm Elliott
 44 to 30
Brett Fordham

Earle Scarff
 30 to 20
Doug Gouldry

Deanna Minciullo
 28 to 25
Shelley Yeo

Stephanie Jeffares
 27 to 27
David Martin

A worthy win to WABGA 3 to 2, with one game squared.

Does anyone know WHERE THE TROPHY IS? Please let Vickie know if you do.

You'll all be pleased to hear that next week is the first round of the Match Play competition. Why? Because that's when we bring out all our very best and finest sporting instincts,

and try to beat the crap out of our opponent!!!

So, no holds barred. Be warned, Thomas!!

They tell me I might have to go on the Club Abusers Register

My mind was elsewhere

Dave Martin, as the new president of the WABGA, extended very warm thanks and appreciation to SOS for their kind support of the Association - the destination of much of our fines throughout the year.

Club Championship, Round 2

Lovely to see Greg back again, and what a glorious day for it.

We're going to try really hard not to get DQ'd this week.

Glen:     What do you call that thing when they scan for moles?
Steph:     ...a mole scan?
\

Apparently no birthdays this week, no cake, nothing. Ah well....

Standing out from the crowd today

Lynne gave us all a good scolding for how we've been filling in our cards. She's gone back through the recent scorecards and found 14 DQ's.

So - at the end of the round, read the score back to your partner. And don't just take your partners word for the Stableford score - work it out independently.

Next week - Fellowship Day. When we get taken to the cleaners by the blind golfers. Afterwards...REFRESHMENTS!

He's back..

He's got no chance today

It'll be on the fairway. Just not sure which one.

Didn't you hear me shout "Fore!"?
On the seventh, Frances hits a huge shot out of the greenside bunker, heading for the trees. Miraculously it smacks full belt into the flagpole, almost breaking it in two.

Bit of practice seemed to help my score today.
On the eleventh, Brett skinnies one off the shaft into the heavens and picks up the longest drive.

See, if you fill them in before the game, you don't make any mistakes..

Only here for the raffle

Brett sledges Gary on the tee for the par 4 - "this one's your par 7, Gary". Gary duffs a series of shots down the fairway and scores a .....seven!

I've DQ'd the lot of you!

I owe it all to my partner - he wrote down my score.
