Irish Stableford

Irish Stableford? We're still having trouble with the ordinary sort.
Phew - that was complicated, but I think we'd got the hang of it by the eighteenth.

Warm, but not unpleasantly so, and a real spread of individual scores, plus of course the St Patrick's Day sausage sizzle, which the kookaburras had been holding out for .

Not much that a good snag doesn't make better
Remember, next week is the AGM - the cafe is reserved and there will be platters of food. At the moment there are no motions for consideration, so we're anticipating a quick meeting and then into the grub.

Off to Dublin in the green, tra la la.
Today's results - welcome back to Brett, who scored a very creditable 88 off the stick, well done sir.

Bernie decided as she was sufficiently Irish already she didn't need to dress up

Par Bisque

One of toughest golf day ever, ... not for the golf itself, but for the maths and logic tests that the rules of the Par Bisque were posing, ... some of us did not pass the test :)

Vice-Captain's Choice

Vice-Captain's Choice - and what did he choose? Stableford, on the Tuart.
They say practice makes perfect.

And did he do well? Hmm - that depends if you think avoiding the lollies on a double countback counts as success. Some of us clearly do.

Longest Drive, here we come.
But a very pleasant day of golf, with the weather on our side for once, avoiding the 35 degrees of yesterday, and something equally unpleasant tomorrow.

A bad day at golf is still better than a good day at work.
A special welcome to Glenda and Stepan, who joined us today as guests, both having very respectable rounds.
We didn't realise guests have to pay double fines

Today's novelties:

Ist hole, longest successful putt: Glen
9th, NTP  Judith
10th, Mens Longest Drive:  Don
11th, Ladies Longest Drive: Glenda

Ambrose Pairs

Finally - a cooler day for golf, not that it helped the scores at all. Some very scratchy scores, but good to see a reasonably full field out there.

The AGM will be held on March 23rd, after the game. If you have any areas that you'd like to see addressed, please get back to Kerry by March 11th, so she can get the agenda papers prepared.

The Club welcomed Gary's fiancee Lin - they'll be married on Wednesday 20th March, 12.30 at the Perth Registry Office. They'd love to see any club members there who can share the occassion with them.

Kerry mentioned Derek's gross birdie on the par 5 last week, as a 20+ handicap that delivers him a modest Eagle's Nest payout.

At this point, anything still seemed possible. It was later that despair set in.

Today's novelties:

NTP on the 2nd, Steph
NTP on the 6th, David J
Mens LD on the 11th, Ian
