Reminder that next week is the dinner - detailed instructions will follow, but it's the gate at the South end of Kings on Bishop Street in Subiaco. There will be a plethora of blue and silver balloons- if no balloons, you're at the wrong gate!!

SOS Cup Round 2

twas a warm day with many fading before the slow death in the sun,,
was great to see the Rocketman back in the fray,,,
and the good news that Richard Yeo is 'all good'

2nd round top3 (in reverse order and had to be settled with a 4 way count back!)

3/ Ross
2/ Shelley
1/ Gary

Overall

3/ Ross
2/ Glen
1/ Stephanie

It has to be noted that a Kiwi won the SOS cup for maybe the first time,,,, but one of the more amusing notes of the day was that EVERY number out of the raffle had a 6 (sux) in it!!!!
Fix, the crowd cried!

SOS Cup Round 1

A beautiful day, with the first annoying flies of summer - it must be barbecue time!!

Sorry to say goodbye to David Ross, who's unable to play with us anymore - we wish him all the best for his future ambitions. Earle was acclaimed as Vice-Captain for the rest of this golfing year - congratulations, Earle.

Amazing score, Stephanie, well done. And thanks to Shelley for sponsoring today's prize.

The Captain noted that as it her choice of game in two weeks time, she has elected to condemn us to mixed foursomes. If numbers do not permit a conventional allocation, some members will be invited to cross dress for the day.

After the usual festivities, the group met for a Special General Meeting to ratify the necessary changes to the Rules to accommodate our affiliation to GolfWA - minutes will be distributed separately.

Club Championships, Final Round

A punishing day in the field,  when what started as merely cool and overcast became wet and windy. Another stroke round, and some of the higher handicappers will be looking forward to kinder formats over the week ahead. Like when after five shots to get out of the bunker you can pick up and cheerily wave to your fellow golfers as you head for the next tee.

Welcome to Fran - no, not that Fran, but Steph's guest, who managed a very creditable net 76.

I just got a Birdie!!

NTP in 3 on the 5th: Glen
NTP in 2 on the 9th:Shelley
NTP in 3 on the 18th: Glen

And for the main event:

Steph on 76
Don on 74
Dave on 70
Greg on 70 (countback)
and congratulations to Glen on his 69 under pressure.

Next week there is a Special Meeting to approve rule changes necessary for our affiliation to Golf WA - you should all have received copies. Nothing earth-shattering, but the changes bring our format into line with what's required.

Thanks to Vickie for a whole heap of hard work in getting it all up to scratch.

Putting Perils

There was a bit of slipperiness about the greens on our recent Country Cup. Lorenzo was bravely dispatched to deal with the over-friendly reptile, which he handled confidently, apparently having been reassured by his colleagues that the Tiger Snake was a non-venomous species, frequently kept as a children's pet  in the outer suburbs.

Stay tuned - next week, Lorenzo makes friends with the Killer Bees!
