Club Championship Round 2

It was the 2nd round of the SOS Club Championship events and 21 intrepid golfers lined up for a round of stroke play on the Old Course.  Fortunately, the forecast 6 mm of rain in the morning had already passed through by the time the first group teed off and, apart from a few minor showers, the skies were blue, light winds and lots of puffy white clouds.  Excellent golfing weather!

With a backdrop of blue skies, Andrea, Earle
& Mark Macnish prepare to tee off!
Michael & Glen bask in the sunshine!

Drue O'Donahue, Tony & Carol were in the 3rd group.

Tony James & Barry Treak  - half of the 6th & last group.

Carol & Barry

Carol looking confident!

Honorary life members Colin & Greg ready for
their 2,000th (plus approx.) game with SOS!!

Glen looks for Keith's ball which had strayed from the fairway!

The post game meeting was held outdoors - the sun was shining!

Beers & wine after a hard fought round!

Carol was keen to display her recently engraved Easter Cup Trophy!

Birthdays

Tony James celebrates his birthday next Friday!

Novelties

It just takes a good golf stroke or two or three to win the NTP's.

Mark Macnish did well to beat Peter on the index 1, 5th hole after Peter's 3rd stroke from about 80 metres landed some 10cm from the hole! But Mark got closer!

MATCHPLAY FIRST ROUND

What are we doing and why are we doing it?

Perth - the sunny destination - NOT

Despite the shitty weather 18 avid SOS golfers found their way to Wembley GC

to compete in the first matchplay of the year.

Most were dressed for the occasion:

Frances & Keith smiling for the camera,
Keith dressed in professional rain gear,
brought from the UK?

the gloves are off, Andrea is ready
to take Mark on

no SOS colours on the driving range

Birgit was there

Steph & Earle

Shelley's easter egg on hole 13...
she lost the hole

as Birgit did somewhere else
