WA Cup

Clearly the weather forecast frightened a lot of players off today.

The car park was almost empty.

Just the SOS hard core turned up.

Sorry, that's the SOS hard corps

We tee'd off early, and had the course pretty much to ourselves.

Plenty of time to get tense and nervous over those little putts

Didn't have to wait on any holes.

That looked suspiciously like a windy to me, Derek.

No one in front of us.

Completed the round in three and a half hours.

How about Apocalypse Now?

In fact, a delightful day of golf all round.

Oh, the weather? Two minutes of rain. Tops.

Did we rubbish the nervous nellies? Did we ever.

Some trees just grow in the wrong places

Not worth breaking one of those nice Ping irons on, Max. Take a drop!

The new technology in the pro shop didn't cause any problems.

Vickie takes the concept of spread betting very seriously

A countback tussle for second, third and fourth.

And again, the first prize winner also wins the raffle. How often does that happen?

Brett deftly managed the fines, and informed us that three out of four in his group managed to score a windy.

Kerry has this hat if anyone has lost it.

Next week, it's Match Play on the Old Course. The draw? Of course, here it is. (Handicap figures from when player last played on the Old Course)

And if you're worried about whether you should be spending your money on some expensive clubs, here's some serious research (you may need subtitles for the Manchester accent).

Club Championship, Round 3

Here we go, round three of the Club Championship.

That's a stroke competition. Ouch! What do you mean, I can't pick up? But what a beautiful day for golf - anywhere:

This is winter, Perth style. Blue skies and a balmy twenty-six degrees.

Winter? You've got no idea..

You're so lucky to be in WA. You could be playing here:

Barbecue next week is postponed (not many playing). Weather permitting, look out for a fortnight's time.

We spoke about membership today - numbers are dwindling.

They don't know what they're missing

If you know of someone who might be interested in joining us

Look how much fun we have (and if I win the $200,000 you won't see me for dust)

Either let me have their email, and I'll get in touch, or bring them along as a guest - let Glen know.

A nice steady round

Country Cup will be at Meadowsprings this year on September 29th. Here's the card, if you'd like to get your strategy organised early.

The suggestion is that the guys play off the white tees. The blue tees are TFH*

The pro shop has given us a heads up that there will be new hardware for scanning the cards next week. It will (should) work just the same as the old stuff, but they'll be on hand to help us through it.

Next week, it's the WA Cup - a Stableford competition on the Tuart. Let Glen know by 5pm Wednesday if you've changed your mind about playing.
