Stableford

Stableford on the Tuart.

Another beautiful day, the sky was blue, the sun was shining, the....(oh, do get on with it)

I'll have a daiquiri by the pool

Fifteen players went out to set the course on fire.

I thought you were bringing the matches..

Unfortunately, most had left their matches behind.

Our enthusiasm knows no bounds..

Gary has booked us in for the Country Cup at Meadowsprings on September 29th.

Get to know the course here:

Two prizes this week? Oh, hang on a minute...

One or two of you will remember Lloyd Taylor - a founder member of the SOS Golf Group.

We've learned that Lloyd passed away a couple of weeks ago, aged 91.

The second group noted that should Ross turn up at the end of a round, he's in debit for several fines for excessive swearing.

Don't worry Ross, we won't forget.

Still waiting for Earle to clear the green

So, here are the winners of the novelties.

Can't catch Gary when he's on form like this.

Next week - Club Championship Round 2 - That's a stroke competition on the Old Course.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for some decent golf to emulate, it's hard to go past some of these:

Par

A small field today, only sixteen players.

John recommends you sign your balls before throwing them to the crowd.

And if you decided not to play because of the weather forecast - wrong call!

What a beautiful day..

There was exactly fifty seconds of rain. The rest of the day was blissful.

Still a long way to the girls' tee, Dave.

Par's a quick game. If you haven't parred the hole, you pick up. Those minus's can stack up pretty easily.

Sixteen players - a good chance to get some consistency points

Some interesting stats for those of us trying to get down to scratch - here's what you need to do.

We couldn't find the raffle, so we improvised. Dave was the proud winner of $10.

Snookered myself on the fourth

Derek and Dave discovered that the computer is always right - except when you've put the crosses in the wrong boxes. Then it's still right, but you're wrong.

So, check if you disagree with the computer, and resolve the issue there and then - it really wasn't watching your round!

And a rousing SOS welcome was afforded Richard Yeo on the occasion of his birthday.

Not sure if playing golf counts as a reasonable excuse for not voting. Maybe get those postal votes in...

Stiff competition for the lollies today - Jack was on target over the first nine holes, but faded badly on the second.

And a birdie on the 18th!!

Don't get too disheartened at your poor scores. After all:

Kerry awards the prize to Kenny Rogers

Nice of him to pop round. Watch him here:
