Vice Captain Choice, 1 March 2014

(or 29 February 2014, for some of us, duly fined at the club house)

Vice Captain Choice: Girls vs Boys, Stableford, Tuart Course.

Hi Everyone.
Vice Captain's choice will be a stableford  competition for everyone.
We are only 4 ladies playing on the day, so there will be a team of 4  men playing against us, as an extra competition. I have picked out 4 men, one from each group to represent the masculine side. It's Colin, Ulrich, Graeme and Brett.  There will be extra prices for the men verses ladies competition.
Lets show the men who are the strongest in this game. Go girls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, our Vice Captain in the end decided today's competition: Girls vs Boys.
No, it's not a mud fight (that is Gary's choice), however the excitement is still ... palpable.
The only four girls will play against four selected boys (chosen in strictly random criteria). The sum of the Stableford points for each team will decide who is on top. (I can't get rid of this mud fight image).

The Girls Team
Judith, Gim, Stephanie, Charmaine.

The Boys Team:
 Brett, Colin, Ulrich, Graeme

Let's find out how it went..

Gary 28
Graeme 29
Brett 29
Charmaine 30

Well Done Gim...
However I can't help wondering why, despite an almost perfect weather (although hot) we had such low scores today. And that was without Ross playing :))))

Ok, that means that today's competition...
Boys vs Girls vs Boys vs Girls:
Boys 120
Girls 115
Too bad girls! ;)

Quote of the day (and probably of the whole year 2014):
In my opinion the quote of the day is without a doubt from Ivar.
Judith turned up at the club house with the back of her white skirt covered in dark dust. Ivar: "Have you been rubbing on the black boys?"

Ambrose Pairs, 22 February 2014

Tuart Course, Wembley Golf Complex, 22 February 2014.

I'd rather not comment on my golf today, however Greg and I had really good time sledging the Yeo/Campbell Team. In the end it worked, otherwise Greg and I risked the lollies of the day.
In fact it worked so well that by the 12th hole even Rich and Ross were sledging each other. Great entertainment guys!
I also want to thank Gary for giving a nice FootJoy golf shirt.
The Sausages and Sizzles are my all time favourite. Luckily I had my wife picking me up to go back home, I was certainly not fit for driving.
Not that my driving - as sober - at Wembley was any better.

We awarded today's winners in true olympic spirit

Summer Cup Round 2, 15 February 2014

Old Course, Wembley Golf Complex, 8 February 2014.

Sponsor: ...who was the sponsor for today?

Summer Cup - Round 2 today, on the Old.
Good weather, nice temperature, only moderate wind.
The first four players after round 1 played in the same group. This meant that Ross, Paul, Brett and I were playing together. Paul had a very good start, with 3 over par in the front 9, but it was definitely Brett's day today. I tried to play my game but it was not enough, so I had to force the last couple of hole and did not work.
PS: It had never been Ross' day, he didn't even try :))))

Now that you have scrolled down, you can actually find the scores :)
