That was an interesting game.
Captain's choice, and she chose Yellow Peril.
Took a couple of holes, but we soon had it worked out.
Seems if you didn't have the yellow ball, you could let someone else get a better score than you and no-one really noticed what a bad hole you'd had.
Sounds like the perfect game, we should play it more often.
Thank you to Vickie for her sponsorship, and well done the talented team that won with an impressive 83 points.
We welcomed Jeanie to the club today, who managed a very creditable 32 points playing in one of the less fancied teams.
But before we get to the results, a couple of important announcements.
The Annual Dinner takes place on November 17th, that's three weeks today.
The dinner will start at 1830 hrs (half past six), and it will be at Al Fornetto on Scarborough Beach Road, corner of Flamborough Street, Doubleview.
There are several menu options, and vegetarian options available. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be provided by SOS, there'll be prizes and entertainment, and the price is $45 for members, and $70 for non-members.
So far, the following people have indicated that they'll be coming. If your name is not on this list, but you'd like to come, please email to Shelley.
Now the big news - next week, a sausage sizzle after the game at Perry Lakes. Clear your after game schedules - don't miss this.
And the even bigger news - a fantastic hole in one on the twelfth by Glen - with the yellow ball no less, with which he managed to pick up the Golden Hole, and the Eagles Nest. Fantastic result, Glen.
And that's not all - it's his birthday this week, too. In the excitement it was missed in the announcements.
And it's Gerry's birthday too. Happy birthday to both of you. Remember this:
So, the results. First, the novelties:
And the team results:
Well done that team.
Next week, we're competing for two trophies, the Memorial and the Masters. Both are stroke competitions, the Memorial is open to anyone, the Masters is restricted to anyone who has won a competition that was played over two weeks or more while they've been a member of SOS. It is, of course, possible to win both.
The competitions will be played on the Tuart course again.
That's right. The socks were Gary's.
And remember, the only sure way to get a par is to leave a four-foot birdie putt two inches short of the hole.
That's it for this week. See you all on Saturday.
Yellow Peril? I was planning on playing with my pink balls.. |

I've stuck it on the end of this stick so we don't lose it |

It doesn't get any more co-ordinated than this.. |
The competitions will be played on the Tuart course again.
So why does he keep showing me his socks? Is it a club thing? |
That's right. The socks were Gary's.
