Stableford Competition

Sponsored by yours truly with a bit of help from Bosch.

Unfortunately due to a small technical issue with my Iphone, all my pictures have disappeared so the blog will be a little light i'm afraid!!!
Which is a real shame especially as i was the sponsor and had some absolute pearlers hehehe.

So apart from that, what a glorious day it was and the expectations after Gordo's brilliant score last week were high.
Though he did take it to extremes and was accused of excessive gloating.

There was a big WELCOME BACK to Don, it was great to see ya mate, and let's hope we see more of ya over the next few weeks!

And more holiday returns to the Scarff's and Longhurst's after their sojourn to Bali.....

We also had the pleasure of Patches friend Stan who joined us for the first time. He was lucky to be paired with myself, Earle and Rob and we had a ball!
That was until i worked out he was a damned Rule Nazi, as he mentioned about my putter being an "illegal weapon" since the shaft is bent!

All i could say was "Bugger!",,,, and take the disqualification!

Birthdays
Many happy returns to Charmaine and Tony Lee.

Rugby World Cup Update
All i can say for this weeks commentary for the RWC 2015 is,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, "Bloody Welsh!".

Roll on next weekend for the big clash Eng v Aussie

AFL Update
Now no gloating here West Coast Fans as the Mighty Dockers were humbled by the better team on the day!
At least there is going to be a WA team in the finals though with an emphatic victory by the Eagles.

I just hope the fans can afford the price of the return flights to Victoria,,,, rumours are it's cheaper to fly back to London!!!!
Shocking hang your head in shame airlines!

Lynne- "I'll be there soon, I'm just cleaning my clubs"

But the winner, as voted by you lot was

Me- "Just like Jason Day my putter is HOT, HOT, HOT,,,, come on you gorgeous thing!"

Ok, let's see what you can think up with for this one (unfortunately one of the few pics i've got).

Quote of the Week
There were many fine options for this award this week, not all of which i can remember but please see a small selection below:-

Travis--- "I was steering that putt in with my penis!"

Fran about Travis' penis--- "Sometimes it was quite wobbly"

Earle about Travis' hat--- "That's the worst hat in the world ever!"

Kerry about my prize--- "I wouldn't want to win your prize Paul, you can stick it up your a#se!"

Fine of the Week
This one has to go to Malcolm for his international quality rally driving, extreme hooning and doughnuts in the golf cart.
Top work dude!

Country Cup
For those that are coming to Rockingham if you could please get your food options to Gary by Wednesday.
Many thanks.

Next Week
As it's the Country Cup there's no official game on Saturday, but the following week is another round of the Club Championship,,, so let's try and see if we can follow up with Gordo's exhibition golf!

Club Championship round 6

Sponsored by Gim.

What a difference a week makes eh? From the cold and blustery conditions of last week to the warm beauty of a spring day.
Spring has indeed Sprung!

However there did seem to be some pre-match nerves, as various people were suffering some issues.

My lovely wife had some "Toilet Issues" as after running towards the ladies, she sauntered back with a slightly strained look on her face whilst hopping from foot to foot complaining that her new purchase, a Salvos Belt, had jammed.

After much frivolity, the lovely Lynne was able to help.

Personally I just think it was an excuse to go to the pros to try and get them to help get her pants off! Hehhehehe

And Gary was suffering from a week of "not really knowing what the heck was going on with the bookings!"

The confusion was clearly taking it's toll as you can see from the picture opposite,,,,

Rugby World Cup Update
Well, well, well what can I say here apart from:-

Kon'nichiwa

who'd have suspected that the first Major Team to lose would be the Saffers?

But the Kiwis were far from impressive also with Mr Untouchable, Richie McCaw receiving a yellow card.

Some big games to follow this week, so let's see what happens before anybody starts to gloat too much.

Well done people,,,,, Brett your balls are still in the bag waiting for you to collect them next week.

Golden Hole
No winner again this weekend, so the pot continues to grow.
I think its at a massive $50, so I reckon we continue to deliberately keep missing and let it increase.

Caption Competition

Last week's winner, as voted for by a selection of the SOS Committee and truly unbiased was,,,,,, drum roll please,,,,,

Me!!!
Heheheeheheee

"Dry your eyes Earle, you know you're going to lose the money to Paul again!"

This weeks picture for your perusal is:-

Let your imaginations run riot and see what you come up with.

I look forward to reading your replies either at the bottom of the blog or via email!

Quote of the Week
There were three notable quotes of the day,,,,,

1) I can't remember the actual context but the first one is from Brett:-
"You as an amateur just haven't got a clue!"

2) from Lynne complaining about Brett and my consistent chatter:-
"Blimey, it's like playing with a bunch of women! Can you please shut up the girlie chatter!"
3) This one is more of a written quote and comes from my lovely wife after one of Brett's drives narrowly missed both her a Peter.
Admittedly it was a 3 hybrid and he was trying to lay up, as we both discussed that we were unable to reach with our drivers.

Kerry's natural reaction was to write the following:-

I'm sorry, i was trying to lay up, just ask Gardi

Next Week
Unfortunately with holidays and injuries the numbers have been down a little bit, so please whenever possible try to make yourself available otherwise we may lose some of our slots!!!

The game is Stableford and I'm the sponsor.

Birthdays
Many happy returns for Rob and Toni for the upcoming week

Random Pics
Unfortunately the marquee still hasn't been fully constructed, so the post match meeting place is once again The Boulevard, which I do have to say is really growing on me as a venue,,,,,,

Firm Construction it certainly isn't,,,,

Apart from the Kerry Belt Issues this morning we also had Peter acting as though he was hosting a demolition derby as he rammed my buggy with his before the start of play,,,,,

Beware he's a dangerous driver!

Sharing the love and before the "Girly Chatter" quote:-

Other stuff
It's my week this week, just wait.

Let the pain commence!

Pre match jitters?

C'mon Ireland!!!

Yep, i've really no idea what i was going for here

Club Championship Rnd 5

It was a great welcome back for Kerry and myself as we sauntered up the hill returning to Wembley as if we'd never been away.
But there have been a few changes for the club,,,,,

And what a way to return but into a lovely round of Stroke for the Club Championship, on a blustery and potentially rain-filled day.

Thankfully the Rain Gods stayed away, at least for most of it.

Some of us warmed up and practised,,,,

Whilst others chose to check out the opposition, or just chillax (and yes i did just write chillax!).

Ashes Update
Well what can I say????

Not 5-0 this time Glenn!!!!!

But they're back in their rightful place (hehehe only stirring people!), at least for the time-being, due to some aggressive cricket by England and some 'interesting' selection policies by the ACB,,,,,
It could've been a totally different series if Rhino had played, or if Siddle was given his chance earlier.

Roll on the next series,,,,,, and I'll be around to collect any outstanding payments x

ODI Update
Nothing more to add on this one apart from my hat goes off to Starc and the rest of the Aussie Team after Morgan was struck an awful blow.
The better team won, but good attacking cricket was played by both teams

The talking point of the series.

Rugby World Cup Preview
With such a multi-cultural Golf Society I'm looking forward to many a discussion about the rugby over the next few weeks.

Check out the latest odds online,,,,,, I was going to put them here, but I lost patience hehehehee

This weeks offering is:-

Quote of the Week

This one comes from Shelley:-

"I've got the balls this week, eh Malcolm"

I don't know what's been going on since we went away but there seems to be a bit of a theme developing as that was the 3rd mention of balls?!

Remember that all friends are welcome so let's try and get a good crowd
