A beautiful day for golf, with barely a breath of wind, the sound of the birds singing in the trees, and (oh, get on with it!!)
Nearest the pin in 3, on the first: Judith
Nearest the pin in 2, on the sixth: Earle
Longest Drive 11th: Gary
Nearest the pin on sixteenth: Shelley
And the winners were:
In third place, with 37 points, Mike and Judith
In second place, with 40 points, Don
And in first place, with 41 points, Paul.
Thanks to Kerry for sponsoring today's event - don't bother wrapping it next time:
Awards presented for Holes in One, to:
Colin Kerr - on the 2nd, 14 Nov 2009; and
Lynne Malone - on the 16th, 3 March 2012
Congratulations to you both, and somewhat belatedly to Colin.
Welcome to Lorenzo Ferrentino, who scored 101 off the stick.
The AGM was a purposeful and effective meeting, many thanks to Toni and others who contributed generously with catering. Minutes will follow shortly.
Um er, I wasn't concentrating - sorry Shelley, but congratulations for whatever this was for. And thanks to Glen for providing the photographs this week.

Saturday 24th March
Yes, it was Stableford, with a somewhat depleted field (we know there was a breakaway group enjoying the delights of The Cut - boo, hiss)
Results:
Results:

2nd Judith Holm - 37 points
3rd Don Beesley - 35 points
Congratulations to all, and next week it's the AGM, so remember to bring your motions...er, never mind.

St Patrick's Day
Aargh, to be sure, and if it wasn't St Patrick's Day!
And there'd be all sorts of funny people dressing in green and all.
And to celebrate, we all played Irish Stableford, which is a bit like ordinary Stableford, but more Irish.
And then we all had a sausage sizzle at Perry Lakes, with green cake, and champagne to celebrate Lynne's hole in one.
And NTP on the 3rd was Ghim
On the 12th Colin
On the 15th Derek; and
On the other one, whatever that was, it was Colin again.
and the winner of the prize for being outrageously Irish, was Lynne
and the winner of the prize for having the highest individual Stableford score was Vickie, who had 35, and the prize was very kindly sponsored by Peter.
And the winners of the Irish Stableford was this plucky team here, who scored a grand total of 85 points and walked away with enough booze to forget how they won and wonder what the meaning of life is anyway.

Par Bisque
Forecast was 39 degrees, and apparently a lot of complaints about the "Big Girl's Blouses" who called it off. We gather it really wasn't that hot at all (yeah, right!)
A three way tie for first, with the honours going on countback to Ric Evans, who apparently deployed his five remaining bisques on the last hole, which made it hard to beat!
And a rather sick result from the lead group (Glen, Paul and Coach) who managed a 96, 96 and a ??? off the stick whilst playing off 11s and 12s. New recruit Steve was, apparently, somewhat underwhelmed.
Meanwhile, Vickie was granted special dispensation to be left in charge of an electric buggy, and managed to escort Jill around all eighteen holes without major incident.
And to the results, all on +6:
1. Ric Evans
2. Jill Penter (getting a bit boring, this)
3. Richard Yeo.
See you all next week for the sausage sizzle.

Three Clubs
Sounds like a brand of whiskey, but no - it was Vice-Captain's choice for the day's game. Which explains a lot.
But before we get to the results, a couple of dates for the diary.
Sausage Sizzle, (yes, we know you look forward to them) 17th March. As it's St Patrick's Day, the dress code is GREEN.
The AGM is scheduled for the 31st of March - resolutions to the Chairman in writing please.
Steve Shyrock joined us today, and shot a creditable 107. Glenn submitted his second card, a 114.
AND - Lynn holed out in 1 at the 16th. She didn't show after the game, we gather she had headed off to the ATM in anticipation of shouting the bar, but we'll settle for bubbles at the Sausage Sizzle.
So, to the novelties:
NTP 3rd - Derek
NTP in 2, 9th - Lynn
NTP 16th - Lynn(of course)
LD 17th - Christine
And the overall winners:
3rd, on 77 Shelley
2nd, on 75 Richard
1st, on 73 Jill (her first eligible competition!)
But, as a footnote, those of us who've played with Jill can report - she only ever uses three clubs anyway!!
And an interesting raffle - having thrown all the balls onto the floor, Ghim needed to spin the wheel another seven times before she finally managed to pick her own number!
